Just got my Low Down tree seat from Fanatic Outdoors. The makers of the Hammock seat. I have a hammock seat which was good, you could set up easily and for the most part be pretty comfortable. But it was just missing something. The Low Down seat is a game changer for me. Last night I walked a good bit on some new ground. I had the Low Down clipped to my belt buckle. I walked (scouting mostly) about 2 miles and found a place I wanted to sit out the rest of the afternoon. I put a bow hanger in the tree, took the seat out of the pouch, hung it and was ready to hunt. I was hunting over about 4 White Oaks in a pine forest. I didn't see anything, but I practiced pulling my bow from the sitting position and it was fine. Seat is quiet and you can still get some movement around the tree with out standing. I'm impressed and will hunt a good bit out of this seat. I will incorporate it with my ghost blind too.

Well, after reading this post and the one about the lightest portable stool, i just put my order in for one.

Here in my little part of WV, there’s hardly a flat piece of ground to sit on anywhere. This should work even on a hillside and I’m sure I won’t squirm around near as much as I would if sitting on the ground.

I watched the video.....do those dual poles make noise against the tree bark? The only thing I have never liked about a tree attachment type seat is having to be against tree trunk....sometimes a really ideal spot with ground cover or the wind doesn't allow that luxury. Nothing is perfect for every situation. Let us know how the rest of you that ordered one like it after some testing in the woods.

Alaska Heart. I only used mine for about 15 minutes just to try it, so I didn't sit in it for a long hunt. But I put the two poles where the tree and ground meet and there was no noise. I put them on on the tree trunk as they guy did in the video and moved as far to the left and right as I could and no noise. I stood up slowly and my leg hit the seat or something and the poles slid down the trunk making noise. I tried the same move a couple of times and It didn't happen again. I would not hunt out of it until you have played with it for a while. Like the guy said in the video I put it a smidge over waist high and then tried it higher or lower. I could see were a dove or duck hunter would like it where they are half standing half sitting. A turkey hunter would probably like it pretty close to the ground. I wanted mine low, but where I could easily stand if the deer was moving behind the tree and I wanted to get up with out making a lot of movement or noise. Obviously you would want to kick away all the leaves and stuff around your feet. Also if you are right handed and bow hunting you would want to position it for the deer to be at you left. But you do have a good range of motion left and right. Good luck

I haven’t received any communications from the seller at all. No “thanks for your order” email or receipt of any kind other than my one from PayPal.

Is this SOP for these guys?

I didn't get anything either. I assume it is a Mom and Pop operation. I saw there is no way to contact them on their website. But it was fast shipping for me.

I got one of the old models at an outdoor show, it was a nice solution to a portable seat that gets you up off the ground for better visibility.

A few cons with it was the single post, if there was a horizontal lean it'd want to swing you to the down hill side.

The fabric of the seat is noisy, I think they went for durable and waterproof but it's crinkly in cold weather worse.

Getting the right height with the single post was hard it high and it wasnt deep enough, too low and it's wedge between your legs too high.

This might be improved enough to warrant buying a new model.

I picked one up years ago at a hunting show. When this thread started I was trying to figure out a good way to hunt this creek bottom and remembered I had the Hammock seat. Well I tried it out. It was very comfortable and I was able to put it in the dry creek in a position that only my head was above the sides. That said, it was very comfortable but noisy. I remember seeing a video where a guy thought the same. He ordered some sportsnetting and replaced the seat. I will do that and replace the buckle before I use it again.

I received emails after I placed my order, a confirmation email and then a shipping notification. Had my seat 3 or 4 days later. Anxious to try it out this weekend. Been using the original one for years and love it. This one looks to be even better. I do wish they had gone with a quieter material for the seat though. This stuff will crackle like a tater chip bag when it's cold out.

I ordered one on Monday and received it today. I love the concept but now fear the sound it might make when cold. Was easy to set up and very comfortable. I cut a foam yoga pad to put on the seat for insulation as I am very familiar with the way heat dissipates through a hammock. Can't imagine that the material is waterproof. That would result in the user sitting in a puddle. Guess I'll find out.

Hmmmmm I haven’t gotten anything. Maybe I better call.

EDIT: I just received the confirmation email and tracking info.

I got mind on Saturday. Very fast shipping. It will be the first thing I try out of this and the Millennium tree seat and Millennium chair. The compactness and weight alone makes me just want to use it over the others. Kind of wish I saw this first before I bought the other things. Lol.

Mine got a bit lost but will be here tomorrow. It made it to our WV dist. center which is an hour and 45 minutes away but instead of coming to me it went 400 miles East to Norfolk. [emoji2373]

Got mine the other day. I thought it seemed noisy but then when I set it up and sat in it it's actually pretty quiet. May be a little bit of a learning curve getting it set properly though as it took some readjusting to get it comfortable for me.

Got mine today. Only got to play around with it for a few minutes but it was comfy when I got it adjusted right. A tad “squeaky” but otherwise not too noisy.

As someone said, it may not be the best choice for a rainy day but I can see myself using it a good bit. Especially during the firearms seasons.

I do have one minor concern and that’s with the fairly small plastic buckle. I hope it holds up after time.

Im thinking I may put my own strap thru it with a friction buckle to make it easier and more secure.

No, like many here I bought the hammock chair years ago at a deer show in town. I have used it sporadically over the years. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago to use it. I got to looking at it and thought I would check their website to see if they had any new products, in fact I figured they would be out of business by now. I pulled up their website and the only chair they had was the new Low Down. It was out of stock at the time. I checked back a couple of days afterward and it was in stock and I bought. I tried it out in the back yard and I was impressed and as a good Archery Talk member I posted the results. I was a bit miffed that they didnt send me an email receipt of my purchase, when I got the seat they had a paper in there thanking me for the purchase and their phone number. . So no I have zero connection with them. Just a product review.

I have a Summit tree seat that beats anything else out there for comfort but it’s kinda heavy and a total pita to carry. The low down wins for weight and ease of carrying. I’ve not spent much time in it but I don’t regret spending the money.
