I just received some Magnus Stinger 100
grain broadheads I was going to equip to update the original versions I have currently. The originals have a decently larger profile. I’m now questioning if I should just stick with the old ones. Does anyone have experience with these two heads? Is either a noticeably better performer. Whitetail Treestand hunting only. Thanks in advance. (Old member first post w new profile. I changed email and forgot old password.)

Just way to similar to make much difference to me. I did not use the original Magnus, but have used the Stingers in all the variations, and years ago used the Zwicky Eskilite and the old Bear Razorhead. Having the replaceable blade is a plus. The old style a little stronger, but not really needed. The 125 grain is just a slightly larger head, and the serrated version does work , think it does wound just a little better. I like the four blade serrated the best, but the ferrule is weaker. You might look at the 125 grain and see if the little difference in head size strikes your fancy. And you can get both blade styles and swap them out to try if you wanted.

I think I’ll check the 125 grain after this season. I just tried them out, or I should say one. At 20 yards it passed through the block, flew 14 yards past and embedded half the head into a tree. Old ones would penetrate the same target but not enough for arrow shaft to pass complete through. Thanks for the response.

Magnus has what some better Manufacturers have tried to do is to "Refine" their Products, trying to make them Better! Some are good at Doing that, while others might not be as talented. It shows that Magnus is Working on making one of their Products Even better and today that shows because Magnus has been a Good BH Company and Continues to add New Broadheads to their Product LIne Up. And that makes them willing to Try New Things. They seem to be a Quaity Product even with their Gurantee Which I would never use though I have been using their BH's even the"Nugent" Blade that was Made by Magnus just not a Vented BH. The Stinger has been a good BH and You can tell because so many Use them including myself. Since the Nugent Blade was discontinued I went to the Stinger 125 2 Blade and I could not asking for anything more as to it's Performance and how well my Arrows FLY. The exact same as my FP's I get and have complete Pass Thrus and I shoot a Large Diameter Arrow and have even though my Arrow was also Discontinued an Easton XX75 & XX78 2514. If I can get Complete Pass Thrus with that I wonder why so many need a Micro diameter Arrow if the BH does it JOB? But Trends will continue and some will buy into just about Anything thinking it is better. I can only say that Magnus BH's come sharp from the Start. What more Can You Ask for? Not much! Old or new as long as my Arrows Fly and I do my Part and Make the SHOT that is all I could ask for!
