I just built a set of strings for a marting cheetah. The bow is rated for 55-70 pounds but after installing the new set of strings te bow maxes at 90 pounds. what gives!!!! Strings lengths are correct. Is there something Im missing?

Are the limbs seated correctly? What was the draw weight with the original strings? New string length the same as originals or just on Martin's spec? Like mathews-nut said, measure the specs too.

The owner had it short strung to fit his draw length and has grown into the bow. brace height is good. ATA is 3/16 inside of 31". I wouldnt think that would cause the poundage to max 20# over the rated draw weight though. First time I have ever seen this.........

Sounds like the cable is way short.

If you took the short string off and built the original length string if it's a tad longer it will allow the eccentrics to roll over more than they should it would easily cause the problem your having

I just ran into something very similar today. Did your bow have the acutrak cam on it?
