Went to a Mathews dealer, today, to shoot a Vertix. Had planned to go shoot Bowtech SS, SR6 and a PSE Evoke and then buy the one that l liked. He set up a 60 lb. and l went out to his targets. Bow was a little tight in the first few inches and then got buttery smooth to a solid wall. When l released, there was ZERO feel. I heard the arrow hit the target but the bow didn't move and there was zero hand shock and noise. I was dumb founded. Bow had a loop and rest. I have a Bowtech Allegiance and a Commander. Both good bows but the Mathews is in another league. He had several in stock at 919.00. I live about 30 miles from the dealer. Went for some lunch and home. Called the dealer up and had him put the QAD Mathews rest (a little pricey at 213.00) and a loop on a 60 lb. in stone. Picked it up and looking foward to setting it up tomorrow. Don

I like my vertex better thin my traix the triax is to short in my opinion
I only have 25.5-26 inch draw. For hunting outta my saddle and bouncing around the woods so much I love my triax. It’s holds and shoots extremely well for a 28 ata bow. If I didn’t have the traix the vertix would be my next option though.

I just set mine up yesterday....freaking killer bow. At 29" draw with standard D-loop and peep at 70 lbs I pushed a 595 grain arrow at 258 fps. Cannot wait to set up my FMJs around 560 grains. Deer won't even know what happened.

I could never get used to how short the Triax was. I went in to shoot the vertix and then they showed me the Traverse due to me talking about liking longer bows. I ordered the Traverse. Can't wait for it to get it. Same deadness of the Vertix and the Triax but I was able to hold it much more steady.

I shot a Vertix while I was waiting for new arrows to be made up the other day. My current bow is a Mathews DXT. The Vertix was super smooth, fast, and QUIET! So much quieter than my DXT. I also noticed that it was a bit more stabile in my hand when compared to the DXT. My wife won't give me the go-ahead to buy a new bow this year. So maybe next year I'll get one. (cries softly)

Just ordered a Vertix tonight. 60# black riser and limbs. Red dampeners and strings. Should have it in a couple weeks, I hope.

I also had an issue over how short the Triax was, but shot great, shot the Vertix and a handful of other bows/Mfg's, but kept going back to the Vertix.

Bought the Vertix mainly due to how quiet, and the speed was a bonus :)

1 week short of 2 months on a custom order :( …...but might be better now being a few months in on a new offering ?

Love my Vertix. Had the Triax last year and cant believe how much they have improved at Mathews. They never fail to disappoint! The short axle to axle on the Triax did bother me a little bit when it came to the sharp string angle, but maneuverability in a treestand and ground blind was great! Vertix is sitting at 28.5" and 73#. Cant wait to cut my Pierce Platinum 300s and see what shes got!

So you didn't shoot the SR6? If not, you did yourself a disservice. "In another league" is a stretch, especially with it's weight (4.67 lbs for a 30 in bow?) and stiff draw cycle. Back wall is nice and it is dead in hand but there are better bows available this year.

I shot the SR6 and the SS. Nice bows for sure, but the Mathews offerings (Vertix & Traverse) were better. Better how: grip, draw cycle (although on performance the Bowtechs were smooth, terrible on comfort. Ironic), quieter, less vibration after the shot, and the Vertix is just a few fps slower than the SR6. Reign 6 and RealmX are still my favorite Bowtech bows.

Agree to disagree hahaha. I did not like the grip but I've been shooting elite for so long that anything tacky doesn't feel right to me. Maybe my expectations were too high for the vertix. I wanted to like it but just didn't.

I picked up a new stone vertix a couple weeks ago. It's a huge step up from my old Bear bow that I've had for 15 or 20 years. lol
Getting it set up this Saturday with new arrows, sight, release, etc. Got the 75# with 30.5" draw, integrated rest, and Mathews quiver. Can't wait to send some arrows down range.
