NASP ain't charity...they are making a ton on money on that program.

I voted Hoyt, they are well made and perform great and have been a lot more reliable for me than the others I have shot.
for one, i said charity AND NASP. and no, they don't make a ton of money on the program, not only has Matt put into the millions of his own money into the program, but they sell the kits very cheap and make little to no money out of it. If you take a look at participation numbers for NASP, it may even surpass little league this year for participation, and the national NASP shoot is one of the largest sporting events for athletes in the world. yes, it is good in the end for mathews getting that many kids involved with the sport as future customers, but it benefits every other company as well

Mathews all the way. If you gave me a new Hoyt I'd sell it to buy a new Mathews. Because of their reputation, the things the owner stands for, and the programs they have going.

I've owned several Hoyts and several Mathews, I've been pleased with all of them. This season I'm shooting the Mathews Z7. :thumbs_up

I'm a Mathews Man to the marrow and while I love the feel of hoyts I currently can't afford more than one bow. I frequently shop for good deals and almost bit on a katera, however I keep coming back to Mathews because it is more important to me that the owner serves Jesus Christ than his bows exceed IBO :teeth:

Whys that?
I really aint gonna answere the way your looking for.. nor am I trying to start anything. I shot a Switchback of a friends and didnt like it at all.... and at the time this was the best offering Mathews had. That being said.. most of thier bows look similar and the grips look and feel similar to me. Ohh and also cause the fanboys turn me off maybe more than the bow itself!! There it is.. my opinion, take it for what its worth... or not at all.. cause once again its just an opinion!

No big deal.

I voted Hoyt because I just got a NIB 2008 Katera. I have no emotional attachment to either company. I've actually owned 5 Mathews bows, and this is only my 3rd Hoyt (2nd since the year 2001 models). I liked the quiet, smooth shooting of the Mathews bows I had. So far, I'm very impressed with the Katera. At 60# and 29.5" draw, shooting a 390 gr. arrow, my 20 and 30 yard pins are so close together it will be hard to aim for the gap between them at 25. Once I settled down yesterday, it was shooting 1-1.5" groups at 30 yards. Hard not to like that.:D

I used to own mathews bows but after I got sucked in by their add slogan "340fps never felt so good" bs and their inflated IBO speeds I switched to Hoyt and I couldn't be happier. I won't be going back to a mathews for a long time, if ever. Carbon Matrix all the way.

I wouldn't put to much faith in him. He lies every time he sells a bow. Because it does not reach it's IBO!

Ok, so you're gonna do a pepsi v. coke comparison, ask for opinions and compare bows. Then what? What are you going to do with the information and opinions you've gathered? What kind of paper is it?

Is it informational? If so, why do you need opinions? Is it a "persuasion" paper? If so, you'll need to "prove" why one bow/company is better than the other. Perhaps a comparison paper focusing on technology?

Your paper assumes that it's all subjective. An interesting question to ask is why both have intense brand loyalty, disgust for each other's product and the causes--via survey perhaps--for often visceral reactions?

Hunting... I love my Z7. I have shot many other bows before ultimately making the claim that the Z7 rules for me. I tried the Maxxis... Destroyer.. and just about every other bow I could put my hands on and I still kept going back to the Z7. I was not a fan of its looks but even that grew on my and I think my all camo Z7 is Sexah.

I have an AM32 that is my backup bow (at the moment, in the process of selling it actually) and it would not be my first choice in a hunting bow. But I certainly would have no issue with using it as a primary hunting bow if I had to.

I have selected a Hoyt Vantage Pro as my target bow, I loved it when I shot it... I borrow one every chance I get and shoot it but Hoyt has ticked me off in regards to delivery time. (still waiting for MY bow)

With all that being said, I would probably pick Hoyt as my overall company only because I don't care for Mathews's target bows.

I do not own a Hoyt or MAthews, but have shot many enough to make my own judgements. If I had to choose one, I'd choose Mathews. Why? According to my experience, Mathews bows are usually smoother/more quiet and definitely faster. Not to mention, Mathews bows look a lot better than Hoyt bows too.

I currently own a PSE Omen.. so i'm not bias...
