i just switched from 405 grain arrows to 370 grain maximas and i only gained 5 fps i thought i should get way more than that, could it have just been the chrono or is that about right.

Bowtech states in their manual that for the Binary Cam system you will lose approximately 1 fps of speed for every 3 grains of arrow weight you add. But I am not sure about the Hoyts.

Depending upon a number of factors, you'll pick up 1-2 fps for every 5 grains of arrow weight.

Based on that, I would also think you'd gain about 10 fps.

Not sure what your problem is but I know it's not the arrow itself (I shoot Maxima 350's btw and shoot them out of a Trykon XL and a Mathews SB). It's just basic physics so something else must have changed or your chrono readings aren't apples to apples. Are point weights and fletching the same? Something doesn't add up.

Most bows will gain 1fps for every 5 grains arrow weight that I have checked through the years. I think the Binary will do a little better. On your particular setup I would have guessed you to gain 7fps, so I guess while 5fps seem a tad slower than what I would have guessed it is close.:)
