I have heard a lot of people say that the meat seeker retaining bands are too strong. So my question is can I use some orthodontic rubber bands? Or are they too weak? Also first time post, so any input would be great.

I used the 2" meat seeker last year. I ordered some of the 1/4" light stretch orthodontist bands from AT member TopDogRick.
They let the head open up easier.

yep I lost my rubber bands for the broadheads and my daughter had braces so i used them and the work great

i always just put a few nicks in the rubber bands they come with. ive only shot one animal with them so far but great bloodtrail and awesome penetration.

I've shot a total of 5 deer with the meat seeker, the penatration is great, the blood trails, not so much.
