Is anyone currently using this boot? I'm considering it or the Perfect Hunter can't make up my mind. I was a Cabela's a couple day's ago and they had a pair in the bargain corner. I looked them over and it appeared that the rubber moulding that wraps around the bottom was beginning to seperate at the seam. The seam is located on the inside foot. Maybe it was normal and would not worsen I'm not sure. Just looking for opinions. I will be using them on a late Oct., rifle hunt along with my Schnee's. Thanks

Meindl Alaskan Humter

I had a pair of these boots and did not like them, I used them for two years. If you need a lot of ankle support then these would work great. The Alaskan Hunters do not flex very well, and they are heavy. I like a boot that feels more like a basketball shoe. If you are looking for awesome support take a look at the Meindl Denali Hunting Boot. I hope this helps

While I'm not going to say this is the best damn boot out there for mountain hunting, I am going to say this is the best damn boot I have owned.

After killing a dozen pairs of Danners in 15 years, I bought a pair of Alaska Hunters for a sheep hund last year. They were fantastic in every aspect.

They are designed for heavy packs in mountainous terrain and this is where they excell. If you are looking for a boot for the woods or short distance hiking, these boots may not be for you.

The Perfekt Hikers are a more all around boot that is not so heavy, but still do well in the mountains...just not as well as the Alaska Hunters.

Yep sounds like the boot for me. I will be using them in Montana in the Bitterroot late Oct. Won't be wearing them in MI at all, should last for years. Thanks
