Is there a consensus on which make/model is the most comfortable?

That's really a loaded question since the saddle is highly personal on what folks prefer. The design of all saddles are the same (in general). I believe the 1 panel saddles that are wider tend to be more comfortable if you like 1 panels. 2 panel saddles are very comfortable, but some folks dont like to mess with multiple panels.
You also have to consider that tether height, sit, lean, ROS, platform, knee pads, molle webbing, etc contribute to comfort and satisfaction.

I have a tetherd phantom and would go Cruzr XC if I could do it again. (My phantom is comfortable enough for me not to switch). I've never seen anyone say the Cruzr was uncomfortable. Maybe something else they didn't like...but comfort wasn't one of them. My buddy has one and I can agree
cruzr xc hurt my back when I tried it out for 15-20 min. Might be inexperience or user error though...I tried it but ended up going back to a hang on stand for mobile hunting

I have been saddle hunting for two full seasons and have owned and tried several saddles. After considerable research I will say the consensus is that the Cruzr XC is the most comfortable saddle. I do not own this saddle today as I have a new Aero Hunter saddle, which is great, but will be hanging from the Cruzr XC next season.

I think saddles are like broadheads in that everyone recommends whatever they use. I've only had two saddles, an H2 Slingshot and I literally just got a Treehopper Recon. It seems that a lot of people prefer two panels over one but there is more fiddle factor with two panels. Also if you want pouches to carry everything and to wear it in to the tree, I'd probably stick with a single panel. I'll most likely just carry mine in my pack. Even with my H2 it sagged and fell off when walking in with it. But I'm far from an expert. There's a lot of good info on the Saddle Hunter forum.

You guys might want to check out the Dryad saddles: Seriously comfortable! View attachment 7497911
I have one myself. I love it. I’ve owned eight different saddles and I now am down to three. I have a Cruzr Xc, a Dryad Drey and two JX3 hybrids. I use my Drey the most. The JX3 is the most comfortable however there is a weight penalty. The Dryad Drey is a close second in comfort but is the easiest saddle to walk in with and is crazy comfortable. There is also no hip pinch or back pain

It's hard for me to imagine a single panel being more comfortable than a two panel. I haven't ever tried a single panel (I'd go Cruzr XC if I did) but I like being able to adjust each panel for comfort and back support on my Method 2.

The only awkward part is having to detach the bottom panel when I get to the tree, and my dump pouch sagging on thr bottom panel. There just isn't a good way to attach a dump pouch to the upper.

Surprised to see that many people like the method. I absolutely hated it and preferred the classic over the method.

I have tried most saddles on the market. The one I find comfort in the easiest is the flat branch outdoors solitude 2.0.

The Dryad Drey is also very comfortable but you lose access to molle loops when deployed. So you can’t have dump pouches or any of that.

I also prefer a Ring of steps. I feel using a platform you are skylined and stick out from the tree like a sore thumb. Ring of steps you can stay up tight against the tree and sneak around using it for cover. Not to mention I think it’s easier to stay still sitting on a ring of steps instead of leaning on a platform and swinging around like Tarzan.

I have a jx3 that hangs out under my bed. Guess i should figure out how to use sticks huh lol (im a lw climber guy). Ive had a aero kite and recon. Currently using the recon and like it but im a 34” waist and recommend going regular size. I have small and feel like i need more strap to separate the panels more. It works ok tho. May order a classic 2 today. Merry Christmas to me!
