Here's my choice of the most famous archery scene of all time in a movie.
Who can forget this scene of Lewis (Burt Reynolds) at full draw getting ready to release the "center shot" on the ******* Hillbilly in Deliverance.
What's your pick of the greatest archery movie scene ?

Sag.

You know, there was a thread in FITA section about some English journalists claiming that was a scam and the arrow actually missed the spot to lit the fire, but organizers had it covered up with automatic lighter (incase the guy missess, which, again, allegedly happened)...

That would have to be Rambo II

When he shoots the trucks off the bridge.
When he shoots the helicopter out of the air.

or best yet... When he shoots the guy in the cave with with glow sticks and an explosive tip.

Jennifer Garner in Elektra was pretty good tood to. The one the I was envious of was her ability to hold so steady. She is like 200 yards away and she isn,t shaking at all.I think I need private lessons.:)

I'll second the guy in the olympics that was AWESOME, but you gotta give it to Burt he had some pretty good form there!! And what is that brass knock doing way below rambos hand at full draw???? Movies I love to pick them apart!!!

The original Robin Hood with Howard Hill doing all the trick shots with a real 80lb longbow and blunt arrows shot into protective boards on real stuntmen. No CG back then and I believe Howard had to do 9 takes for the arrow splitting, he kept shaving off fletching and splitting nocks. It would be nice to see a modern day archer doing some movie work rather than computer generated fantasy.

I guess post 24 shows Legolas' true talent with a bow.... he can shoot it with the arrow on either side..... but from the distance of that last shot I guess we all could......
