My Boss Blew Up My Bow!!!

2501 Views 30 Replies 23 Participants Last post by  semobow
Took my bow into work this morning to sell to a guy.He drew it back a couple of times, liked it and we were talking price when the boss picked it up drew it back and BLAM!This is the good part:As I,m picking it up off the floor the boss says "huh, the damn string broke".Well it did break the string and blew the cam bushings out of the top cam. So,my $300 deal is now worth a plug nickel.Lesson learned.NOBODY,I MEAN NOBODY!!!!!!!!!Is allowed to draw my bow ever again without an arrow on it.I'm really pi$$ed right now,but I know it's my fault for letting it happen. So watch out for "breaking strings" fellas!!

Fortunately (THANK GOD) I have a VERY good working relationship with my boss... We work on relatively small crews, and he is just one of the guys (with the exception that he doesn't do a damn thing.... lol).

Anyway, I have spent quite a bit of time outside work with my "boss" fishing, roaming around on his farm, and an occasional day trip to Bass Pro Shop. I consider myself lucky to get along with my boss so well, and I feel quite confident that he would, at the very least, offer to have the bow repaired.

Should he opt to say, "ummmm the string broke" and I knew better, well, I'd cut all four of his tires (be sure to get the sidewalls.... can't be patched!!! ).

Now, before any of you start screaming, "THATS ILLEGAL, IMMORAL, UNETHICAL, AND DOWNRIGHT CHILDISH!!!!!" Yea, I agree, but it would sure make me feel better, and I bet it would you as well!!!!

 :ROFLMAO:
You know,if anybody else in the room this morning had dry fired it besides the boss it would be a different story all together. It's hard to jump too awful bad***** against the boss cause he can make life suck if he wants to.It embarassed him pretty bad as it is.I've thought about it a bunch since it happened and I've decided to just let it go and make sure I never let it happen again. :darkbeer: :darkbeer:Although as someone posted earlier it would feel GREAT to kick him square in the nads about 6:50am tomorrow morning, then we'd call it even:cocktail: :cocktail:
Hire Spectre to kick him in the sack so you won't get fired. ;)

Sag.
ooops

Hope your boss isn't surfing the net, you might be looking for a new boss tomorrow:mg:
You shoulda said"gee I didn't know you wanted that bow"If the string broke it really wasn't all his fault. Can the limbs be replaced ?It there any way you can get it fixed under warranty ?
What were you doing private stuff in work time???
Maybe the bosses way of saying stop wasting my time.
He should at least pay for new srings and the other parts you need.
I agree that he should pay for a new string and cable but I'm just about talked into the kick in the nads at this point.:darkbeer: :darkbeer: :darkbeer:I just got my new ross331 monday so that helps to ease the pain quite a bit.Heck I wish this had happened last week so I could explain to my wife why I needed a new bow.
