Tonight was a first for m an my son. He started hunting with me last fall hardcore and tonight was our first bird together. I have been calling for him while he takes his bow. We have had birds close, but not close enough for a bow. Tonight I threw in the "long bow" just in case birds did not come in close enough. Well about an hour into the hunt, a Jake strolls into our setup. Not liking my pretty boy Tom the bird starts to get away. My son quickly tells me that he wants me to shoot him. I wanted him to use his bow, but this being our first bird together we let lead fly. I know its not a bow, but it was still pretty cool.
