After reading all the positive reviews and testimonials surrounding the 2010 Mathews Z7 I decided to run down to the LPS here last night after work to check it out for myself! Well after handling the bow,giving it a really good close inspection, and putting a dozen shots through it I immediately walked out with it!

And here she is all decked out and ready to go hunting!! I'm heading out tomorrow after work to hunt with it on our farm here & then on Saturday as well in Maryland!

* Lefthand
*Black riser/ camo limbs
*29'' DL
*60-70 LB limbs
*All the factory Mathews Monkey tails in place along with the Mathews Stringstop
*Stabilizer= 8.5'' Fuse CX hunter
* Sight= Trophy Ridge V5
* Rest= Trophy Taker Xtreme Full Capture
* Quiver= black Octane 1 pc.( not on bow in pictures)

And I'll be changing the strings & cables out once I decide what color I want to do on this bow! I put 50 shots through this baby today and I'm already stacking arrows with it out to 40 yards. In fact I busted 3 nocks today-errrrr:wink:

Despite ALL the positive feedback and reviews pertaining to the Z7 if you are considering this bow I highly suggest you go see once in person for yourself and shoot it! I can almost guarantee that you'll promptly purchase once!! This bow is AWESOMEEEE and hands down the best bow that Mathews has produced to date. It's VERY smooth and easy drawing. And has absolutely no handshock or buzz at the shot. The best to describe the Z7 is that it's a Switchback on lots of steroids!!:wink:

Very nice! Yours is only the second black riser/camo limb bow I've seen shipped besides mine. Congrats!
Sweet! And mine is a Lefty. Guess I got lucky as there probably isn't too many Lefthand Z7's in circulation yet!:wink:

Have you had that site before on another bow? How do you like it?
Yes, I had it on my 08 Elite GT500. It's an awesome sight and very well made with very bright pins! Altho it does take some getting used too with the vertical pins, but once you do it makes the sight picture quite a bit better & crisper. Personally speaking, I'm bouncing back and forth between these Trophy Ridge V5 sights and the Truball Axcel Armortech sights on 4 different bows. I really love both of the sights for their own seperate qualities/ features! So honestly I'm kinda torn as to which I prefer better at this stage of the game!:wink:

Guys-

Just figured I'd refresh the thread and make mention of the chrono'ed speeds I'm getting out of my Z7. I chrono'ed the bow last night. I'm one of those(like many others) that likes a heavy hunting arrow! For the ultimate in KE!!

I went back to the ole' trusty Full Metal Jackets this season. With that said I'm shooting the 340's with a 100 gr. head to yield a finished all up weight of 480 grains. I also checked the speed with my 2nd favorite arrow choice( CX Maxima Hunter 350's) with a total all up weight of 438 grains with a 100 gr. head. I checked the speeds of each arrow 6 times back to back . Here are the chrono results with my 29'' DL @ 72 lbs:

438 gr. CX Maxima Hunter= 302/303 consistantly
480 gr. FMJ 340= 289/290 consistantly

That's pretty darn good speed if you ask me for a bow this smoooothhh! IMHO- At 72 lbs. the Solo-Cam Z7 feels like most dual cam bows do at 60! I did not check the KE chart to see what the 480 gr. FMJ 340(which I hunt with) is generating, but it should be right around 90 ft/lbs tho. Which is certainly more than enough to blow clean through anything in North America!

And I swapped out stabilizers on my Z7. It had a 8.5' Fuse CX hunter on it but it now sports a 11.5'' Octane. It balances quite a bit better with the Octane. And it also looks even sweeter since the Octane stablizer is the black version with the red cylinder.. Man, not only is this one sexyyyy looking bow(with the black riser) but it also performs like a champ!! IMHO this is the very best bow Mathews has designed to date. I had a Reezen 7 and this Z7 blows it away in every respect as far as I'm concerned! And I had a 07 Switchback and a 09 Monster 6. And neither one of those was near the shooter this bow is. The best way I can describe a Z7 is a Switchback on STEROIDS! Everyone knows how incredibly smooth,easy drawing and forgiving a Switchback is. Well that's the Z7 to "T"! But yet you have the speed that is very close to the Reezen!! This baby is quite simply AMAZING!! If anyone is on the fence and considering a Z7 you atleast owe it to yourself to go shoot one! But be warned-you'll LOVE it and will more than likely be promptly breaking out the ole' CC afterwards!:wink:
