Last week I shot my second big game animal with a bow, a 5x5 elk. He came in screaming at a trot and I shot him when he paused between two aspens at 18 yards. I placed the XX78 2216 tight behind the shoulder and the arrow passed through the elk. The Slick Trick 125 standard did the job and the bull ran 100 yards up into the timber before crashing. To quote Jim Shockey..."What a hunt!!!".

Congratulations on your elk. I am completely jealous. I was able to take a similar sized bull with a rifle last year after several years of coming up empty with a bow. I can not wait until next year when we will give them another try with our bows. It's amazing how much bigger they get when you walk up to one. I have only hunted mule deer and whitetails, so it was a big difference from what I was used to, even with a smaller bull. I hop you enjoy the table fair.
