I need some feedback on this broadhead. I've been using fixed blades and are rather happy with them knowing that they won't fail. When I found the NAP Bloodrunner, I thought this might be my solution with a fixed blade that expands on impact. I've been using their practice heads and they have been flying great so I took them out hunting this morning. I stalked a doe for about a half hour and finally had a 54 yard shot broadside. Arrow left my bow and I could hear it buzzing all the way towards the deer (and so could the doe). She ducked under it and took off. Since all I brought out this morning were the NAPs I continued hunting with them. Got another opportunity on a doe broadside at 34 yards, this time I thwacked her right in the vitals and watched as she took off with my bright blaze orange vanes sticking out the side. I waited about 20 min before searching for a blood trail. To my surprise there was no blood to be found. I am shocked and a little sad I lost this doe, especially since I know it was a kill shot. So far I'm rather disappointed in these broadheads and hesitant to use them again but willing to try if anyone has some tuning advice or a better experience. I think it is possible I hit a shoulder blade on the second deer and maybe that's why there was no blood, but I'm doubting it. I want a broadhead to do its job when I do mine. Thanks everyone in advance. Also, I bought a bunch of these wholesale so I want to use them otherwise I would abandon the thought after today. Aloha

I have shot and killed 15 deer so far with the 2 blade blood runners. All but one went down with in 40 yrd's .The other one was a bad shot on my part but I still found my deer .
20Min is not enough time to wait .I give mine 45-60 min unless I watch them go down.I'll have them in my quiver again this year .
Sorry to hear about your bad luck .

Thanks John. We aren't shooting Whitetail out here. Axis are quite a bit smaller and 90% of the time 20min is plenty for a bleed out, but if there is no bleeding going on who knows how long lol. I'm going to give them another chance and if I get the same results you can pick up a bunch of these broadheads cheap :)

I like these for pronghorn, since the can be shot through the mesh of a ground blind without issue. And I would up unintentionally shooting a 700 lb. bull elk with one last week. Got 20" of penetration at 74 lbs. of KE. One thing I did not get on the elk, though, was a pass through or much of a blood trail. But he was going down in about 4 seconds.

Thanks Roskoes. I've given these another try and lost another small buck. Very little to no blood on a pass through (arrow was covered though). I have a ton of these and they shoot almost identical to my field tips except for the noise. I've decided i will use them on our polynesian goat hunting but never again on a deer or hog.

Update on these. I think the design is poor. The scissor action doesn't work in my opinion. If pressure is put on the tip the the blade opens, right? But once the blade actually hits the deer, there is pressure on the blade that will keep it from opening further or will push it closed. Itis basically a 2 blade fixed broad head at that point. It is extremely loud as well. Although the arrow is traveling faster than sound "supposedly", I have a problem listening to this loud arrow fly as it scares everything else around.

buddy of mine lost a nice buck this year with bloodrunner also didnt get a pass through and ran out of blood on the trail :( i still thought about trying em since they look good i just worried about penetration since tip is what opens it up. reckon i'll stick with my fixed blades since they always worked good for me

Get Rid Of Them

Get rid of the Bloodrunners before it's too late. They should call them no bloodrunners. I hit a nice buck last season square in the vitals. I have it on film. It looked like the arrow hit a brick wall. Got about 6 inches of penetration. The
arrow lasted about 20 feet in the deer. Gave it plenty of time but not a single drop of blood. I was shooting a Mathews creed at 65 lbs and 29" draw. Have always had complete passthroughs. Worse broadhead I have ever used- not even close!

I had a great blood trail on the one deer I shot w/ them. Hit a sapling w/ the next one and it exploded. Part of the head being plastic isn't the best idea Nap ever came up with.

Best blood trail Ive had w/ a 2 blade head though.
