NAP Thunderhead

I picked up some Thunderhead's today just to tinker with. I decided to pick up a 6 pack of them before the Edge line comes out and I can't get any of the regular's. I was putting the pre-assembled one on a shaft using the wrench the NAP provides and I ended up cutting my finger pretty good and didn't even notice until almost 30 minutes later. Dang these things are sharp!

Are Thunderheads harder, easier, or about the same difficulty to broadhead tune than other broadheads like Slick Trick's?

I never had a problem tuning them, however, the answers will probably vary greatly. There are infinite different setups, arrow choices, tuning abilities, so on. Some my answer is, it's possible for them to fly awesome, but it depends if your bow setup likes them. Most likely they will be in your quiver come fall
They have been around forever. Tried test and true and yes they are sharp out of the box. I havent found a broad head that is sharper out of the box. I have always been able to tune them.
many of my friends and i have used them for many many years and never had a problem with them. i can say over the years they always performed consistantly and never failed to do the job, both 100 and 125grn., bows and xbows.
Good sharp head, but I never liked the O-ring thing. Make it a solid connection and it would be bullet-proof.
I've killed elk, deer, antelope and turkeys with the Thunderhead 125's. They have never let me down.
I use the 85gr. Thunderheads and love them, they fly great!!!
Anybody lost a blade on a pass through on whitetail?

I can't wait until I get the cams changed and my new QAD Ultra Rest HD all set up and can have some fun in the yard and test these had boys out! I might do an impromptu broadhead test tomorrow or this upcoming week if I have time and will post some pics when I am done testing them.
Killing deer for two decades with 125 Thunderheads. Never had a blade come off or get mangled. The fly wonderful too!

Messed with Rage 3 blade last couple of seasons. 2010 will be back with Thunderheads.
Same
Great heads, never had a tuning problem with them. I've shot a lot of big game with them including moose and brown bear. They're a great broadhead.

having to put an artificial mountain in your den to hold taxidermy work is alot of animals
I will be shooting Thunderhead 125's at least part of this coming season.:thumbs_up
work great for me but i do spin test every arrow...like all heads one might spin true on one arrow & not on another.i also like muzzy & rage for diff-setups.
People question me all the time "Your still shooting Thunderheads?" my reply is a confident one "Yes I am. Why do you think I had to learn taxidermy!"
It is a tried and true broad head. Some people are like a dogs chasing their tails. They want the newest, hottest thing out there because it might make them a better hunter, even though what works the best is right in front of them and always has been!
I started using them about a year ago and i had to switch to muzzys. I kept losing blades in my target. Other than that they shot pretty much with my field points.
great heads!! I have killed elk, deer, hogs with them and have never lost a blade!! If your shooting carbon arrows make sure you use a UBAR or BAR behind the head and blade loss should never be a problem. Super sharp out of the box and they are killers!!!
Oldie but goodies.

Better penetration than Slicks.

Tune easily
very sharp, good heads.. i started with them a few years ago they grouped well but never with my field tips, had the same issue with muzzy so i dont use either one now but cant say a bad word about them for quality,, i still use nap but mostly the razorback or crossfire
