Need bino harness recommendations

I’m in the market for my first harness. I have a set of Bushnell binoculars and a Leopold range finder which I’d like to carry at 3d shoots and possible into the field next hunting season. I have never taken my pistol with me into the woods so I don’t feel that’s a necessity. Just a place to secure my binos and range finder and maybe some small items like Allen wrenches aspirin etc. I tried watching YouTube reviews and reading online before posting here but I was getting overwhelmed. My criteria is no chest babies, not much bounce if I’m running or jumping, and quality construction.

I am at a stage in my life where I have money to spend on my toys but I pride myself in not being a fool with my money (that’s why early retirement is on the horizon 🤩). I don’t need “what everyone else has” to be happy. If I did I’d go buy a new bow like my wife keeps telling me to do lol. So I don’t mind spending for quality but if I could keep the price tag around $125 give or take that would sure keep the wife happy 😃. I’d like to order this weekend so I can get it in time for my first 3d shoot next weekend. For what it’s worth I am 6’ tall and weigh about 185 so I am not a big man.

I tried and really liked Marsupial Gear Enclosed pack (small with small range finder and accessories pouches) Then my doc said no magnetic so I went with the Marsupials no mag. I could not get the no mag to work, just never sat right on me. I switched to Muley Freak Game Changer and so far it’s the more comfortable of all. The way the side pouches attach is better. The shoulder harness is more comfortable and it has build in elastic that give a bit. So, you can put on/ take off a layer and the system still fits/feels great. With that in mind I’m 156lbs and 5’-8” so your mileage will vary.

I had a magnetic marsupial. The magnet would interfere with the navigation part on onX. I thought I was going crazy because I knew I was headed for the truck. I then googled it and it turns out I was not the only one with the same problem. After watching several reviews, I ordered a kifaru harness and sold the marsupial. I’m very pleased with the kifaru. I will say that I like the marsupial harness a little bit better but I feel like I’ll get used to the kifaru after I wear it a few times. If you’re not gonna be using your phone or a handheld gps for navigation, I think the marsupial will be great. If you are, get the kifaru. By the way, Kifaru is 100% made in the USA. That was a big selling point for me.

I just recently picked up an outdoor vision harness, really happy with it so far. It is magnetic if that’s an issue for you, but I can hold my phone/compass far enough away for it to be a non issue. Pretty compact and low profile, made in the USA, and I think they’re on sale for like $75. It’s very comfortable, and I can get it to ride up on my chest instead of sagging like a belly pack. I do have an additional range finder pouch on it.
Marsupial usually gets great reviews and guys seems really happy with them.

Marsupial, FHF, T&K, Outdoor vision all suit your needs. They all suit your needs for what you’re doing, if you were doing western backcountry hunting then I would recommend something without magnets because they mess with your GPS compass (don’t ask how I know lol). If it were me in your shoes I would go with marsupial because of all the attachments they have but it’s honestly personal preference.

I will get a lot of flack for this because some people here don't like the business owner.

Muley Freak Game Changer is by far the best.

It combined the best features of all the major brands. The bino bucket and range finder pouch both open forward. There are no magnets. It has molle loops on the bottom. It has all the same side pockets the other brands have. It's also not overly expensive to buy the combo with the range finder pouch and secondary pouch. I highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like is the patch with the Muley Freak logo. I think it's pretty gawdey so I de-badged mine.

I bought Rick Young harnesses with rangefinder attachments for me and my son this past Christmas....very simple design and easy to adjust throughout the season for light or heavy clothing....you can also wear it in several different modes depending on your activity.

Wow my God I didn’t know there were so many different options lol! Thank you for all the replies I’ve got some research to do. I do not hunt in the mountains where I would need a GPS but I’m one of those people that would rather buy something that works for everything and not have to buy again later. Never know maybe one of these days I might want to travel out west

Marsupial is always a good bet. You can go on black ovis and use a ELKSHAPE for 10% and black ovis gives free shipping on $100 I believe. Grab a rangefinder pouch too, they are nice, built well, and a lifetime warranty. Can’t go wrong, but other have said mag versus no mag and I’ve only used the magnetic one and it works great

I started with a Tidewe and it was to sloppy around the glass and the straps didn't go small enough. $15 on Amazon. I switched to a Fieldline and I liked it overall much better. I didn't like that it opened forward away from my chest as I couldn't shoot with it open, and the range finder pouch had a zipper that I thought game could clue in on. $18 on Walmart.com. I just got a Sitka Mountain bino rig and it's all good for the moment. Quiet closures. Modular pouches. It's a little wide for my frame, but I can shoot with it on well with the pouches on and the glass pack open. Pricey, but it's on sale at the moment. Buy once cry once. $137 on Amazon, same on the website for the next two days.

I ordered one of these. Honestly for the price it’s done very well for me. It’s nothing real special but does the job.

Oh, one more really nice thing with the Vortex Glasspak that I like, and this is specifically for glassing for awhile, but I'll bring snacks with me and when I have my binos on a tripod, my little snacks fit perfectly in the fold-out portion of the pack, right next to my face. I know it's dumb and might make some cringe, but when you're sitting in 2 feet of snow and not moving a lot, it's nice to have easy access to the little things!

I have had a few over the last few years but I just picked up a t and k with a range finder pouch I like how it attaches onto the frame. Very comfortable and well made with USA materials and labor. I’m a western hunter but I don’t mind the magnets I use on x and hunt the same areas year after year so I’m not compass concerned.

I have a Marsupial with magnets but it was messing up navigation, so I looked at a bunch of the non-magnet bino harnesses and picked up a Safari Tuff. Simple design and the material is light years quieter than any of the others I have handled. I only got a few weeks of hunting with it this year but I like it so far. The Safari Tuff also holds the binos well and doesn't stick out as far on my chest as the Marsupial.
