I've found a Crestwood fiberglass (green) bow that needs a string. I plan on using this bow with Boy Scouts for their Archery merit badge. Unstrung, it is 58 inches tip to tip. Anyone know what length string I need?
I assume you don't have the original string or you wouldn't be asking the question.
If you're into Scouting and remember your knots, try tying a nylon cord on one end and a sliding knot (taut line hitch?) on the other. Flex the bow as if you're stringing it and slide the knot until the brace height between handle and string is about 7 inches or so. I wouldn't trust putting tension on the string, so keep holding the bow flexed and remove the cord and measure it.
