I'm wanting to get back to basics and start hunting with a recurve again, though I'm not sure what brand/model direction to go in. For the state I reside in the minimum allowed # is 40-45. I do have a tight budget (no more than $150) does anyone have any suggestions?

Please don't respond if you're just going to say "You'll have to spend more."

Yep. Samick Sage in 40# weight.
You can update to 45, 50, 55, or 60 as you choose down the line. Right now, 40 will be a handful (I would prefer to see you start even lower if you could afford to)
Bow with whatever limbs you choose will be $139.00, each set of extra limbs are around $75.00
If you've shot recurve before, you might be able to start out with 40#. This is a fine bow, nice wood, easy takedown (no tools req'd), Fast Flight string compatible and dirt-cheap. If you did have any limb problems, (very few have) 3Rivers and Lancaster both are reputed to firmly stand behind the products and replace them, no questions asked.
Can't ask for a better deal IMHO.
