i am new to the sport of traditional archery however ahve bowhunted for years, the other day i was given a 50# Stemmler recurve bow and 1/2 dozzed GT 3555 arrows , i was curious if i could use those arrows, and some possible tips on storage and shooting, i also noticed what seemed to be "tiny slivers on the lower limb, should i be worried?

could be just streaks in the glass. Let someone else who knows look at it.

As for shooting tips.....You should find someone to coach you that is already good. There are traditional archery events in almost every state/region. Its also good to read as much as possible and develop a form that is consistent. Go to www.threeriversarchery.com and take a look at their book/video selection.

I shoot 3555 carbons from my 46 pound bow. No problem, just adjust the length of the arrow shaft or add or subtract ft weight to find the correct spine for that bow.

Proper spine is the most important thing you can fix at this point, then shooting and practicing occurs. Improper spine arrows will never shoot accurately and you will be discouraged.

Read on "bare shaft testing". I feel that this test will determine the ft weight and even shaft length.
