I've got two new hunting partners this year! One is a 14-year-old South Dakota bowhunter, Ryan Penning, and the other is my nearly 70-year-old mom! She's been doing my scouting for the past couple years and this year she drew a rifle license (too weak to draw a bow after a battle with cancer last year). This is going to be a real special year as I lost my brother and hunting partner Mark in 2004 in a head-on. Who'd of thunk my mom would be picking up the slack? Whooeee! I wouldn't want to be a deer on her place 'cause I've seen that old gal tip over antelope on a dead run!

Anyone else got a new partner to crow about?

That's just awesome that your Mom is going to hunt with you, and that you have a youngster to hunt with. I'm sorry about your brother and hope that you always have great memories of the good times you guys spent in the field together. Good luck this year.
