I bought an o6 Browning Illusion with the hyperlite limb pockets, and when I did my so called fix, It consisted of #1 New Rockers { same as old design} #2 was a felt type pad to go between the two metal surfaces, #3 a wad of Lithium grease,,,
So the only thing they were really doing was replacing the worn out rocker and usuing a pad type material to keep the two metals from rubbing ,with a wad full of grease inbetween,,, God knows they needed a better fix then that,, Its about a 50/50 chance it works for awhile,,, I'd like to see alittle more permanant fix,,, I have alot of money tied up in this bow,,,05 design was perfect,, I can;t for the life of me figure out why they changed such a great bow design,,,,, Go figure,,,,,,

There is an update. . .

A friend of mine is on PSE's national shooting staff, and the local rep provided him with 12 new sets of limb pockets. He is going to replace those on two of his bows and help replace those of any shooters he comes across in our area. The new pockets are more "user friendly." The second version was working just fine, but this upgrade is supposed to be more durable. I am not exactly sure what the differences are for I do not shoot a PSE. I only know that a replacement has been made. I would contact your local dealer to find out all of the details. -- Ike

Thanks NC Crutch,

that looks like it would eliminate any limb tip movement if it is stiff enough. Much better, IMO.

The popping was coming from the steel barrel shifting sideways, which meant the limb was shifting laterally.

They put a setscrew on the barrel, which will keep it from shifting, unfortunately it will keep if from rotating also as you change poundage.

Not entirely. Most of the cracking and popping was actually coming from the pins in the limbs. Yes, there were some bows where the barrel nut had some movement, but even after they tapped the set screw for that , the popping continued on most of the bows that got the barrel nut fix.

I'm glad to see they designed a closed end pocket. I'm sure this will help immensely with limb movement. My only question is to nccrutch... Is there still allignment pins in the limbs or did they eliminate the pins with this new pocket design and use the plastic limb rockers between the limb and pocket seat ??

how many times!!!

Nice limb pockets!
How many times were we told by even the PSE pro-staff here on AT, those un-named, that the origional design was flawless, that there was no limb shift possible whatsoever, that this was the designs to end all designs.
Personally it kept me from purchasing a mojo; enjoyable as the grip is and how well it sits on the target!
Maybe the new limb pocket will prove itself, and when they start building the bow stock with the baby hybrid cams the bow may enter my thoughts again. Give it another 6 months to see if it all pans out.

I have no clue about the pins. I just copied the pics from the PSE site. I have an '05 AR with conventional pockets.
That's what I can't understand. The AR had an excellant limb pocket, even after this improvement they will still be better. Why not stay with what works??? I think they will be tinkering with this pocket next year.

I had a Mojo with the "issues" and got more run around and varying answers from the factory and staff than you could imagine. I got the impression noone really had a good answer as to what was going on. To PSE's credit they solved the problem to my satisfaction but I wont own another one.

That seems to be the opinion of so many. Heard heads were rolling at pse, may be just a rumor, don't know. But I know after this years flop they better get their act together.
