well guys, ive decided to make some purchases for my bow...

I have a switchback xt and heres what im thinking... Ive been thinking of ordering one of meanv2's STS's and ive also been looking at new girps like a tronjo. The stock girp is just too bulky for my taste, so with all that, it will be somewhere a bit under 100.

here is my other option, ive had the bow for 3 months, have shot the crap out of it, but i was thinking of sending it off to crackers for a tune and new string job. Is it worth getting new strings this soon or should i hunt this season, then replace them????? i mean will i really notice any difference with new string, besides cosmetically, since ill get some crazy color combo. this will also be a little under 100

so for those of you that have had experience with all these things, let me know what you think is the wiser purchase in the long run

sts?

I was thinking of making my already very quiet bow even quieter by putting a new STS on it, so I bought one and brought it to my Bow guy. He said that it will cause some bad arrow flight. I am not trying to talk you out of it,I am simply giving you advice that was shared w/ me. I just wasnt willing to mess w/ arrow flight on an allready quiet bow. Just my 2 cents. :) oh yah if ur interested in a brand new STS feel free to send me a PM. take care.

I'd have to do something with the grip. Every Mathews grip that I've felt just didn't work for me at all...just my opion. I think it sucks that you just bought a new bow and have to spend $100 for a different grip. One of these days Mathews will listen. Maybe the sucess Ross is having will scare them into listening.

STS's are cool....don't know how much it'd help you, though with parrallel limbs you are probably fairly quiet. It may be worth a try. The one you are considering certainly looks much better than the original STS.

I have no idea what Cracker's strings run. I'm not real fond of putting my bow in the mail, though. I'd suggest Bucknasty strings now...and save your current strings for an emergency...stash 'em in your bowcase with the peep still on them.

Good luck in getting it like you want it.

Sorry, but that is a bunch of bull. Many people here on AT have put them on their bow and I have seen nothing but positive results. So much so that I bought one from CHL and was amazed at how well it worked and there was absolulty no change in arrow flight for me. Some have even reported a slightly better arrow grouping as posted on AT, but I did not have any change.

Only you can know if you need a new string or not. Is it stretched out quite a bit? Is it fraying at all? You can send it to Crackers and like so many you will be very happy. But, I think you would be doing yourself a huge favor by learning to tune and adjust your bow yourself. You can learn just about everthing by searching here on AT and the Mathews forum page. It was the best thing I have done. It is easy, but just takes a little patience. I was able to get everything perfectly in spec. and my bow shoots like a dream now. I did my Fathers bow also and he is shooting much better now, not to mention they are quieter now with everything set and timed. I am not even close to being a professional, but I learned so much here on At and it came very easy for me. It is something that I really enjoy doing also because I am very particular and want things just so. If it is not for you, than send it to Crackers and from what others say you will be very happy.

Crackers is the man when it comes to tuning and making strings.
I just dont know what his turn around time is right now. The guy is busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest and I am sure you want you bow for early season as well.
I would go for the meanV2 suppressor, they are great and now you can get a camo one

I agree about the grip, but I'm currently selling my grips for only $45- if you're interested.

if i order strings from bucknasty ill still have to have someone put them on, i have no press, and dont have the slightest clue about what im doing.

And when i said a bit under 100, i meant for the girp AND the meanv2 CSS, but i think im gonnna go with the girp and CSS for now and let my strings get some more shots through, but i dont know, still open to oother opinions!!!
