I haven't seen much on Sitkas new Incinerator Aerolite, and haven't been able to find them locally. Anybody bought them or tried them? Thoughts on replacing the Fanatic system with them?

I have. QUick summary: It feels like the same exterior as the previous incinerator but it is FAR less bulky. Clearly less bulky than the Fanatic. Feels like a lightly insulated version of a slightly bulkier Stratus. Bulkwise it's between Stratus and Fanatic -- very impressive in this regard (assuming it's as warm as expected). Same exterior as previous Incinerator.

I have primaloft gold in some other hiking gear. This is a lower grade insulation and will not be as warm as down

  • Synthetic PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation with Cross CoreTM technology replicates the warmth and compressibility of down, but with the benefit of warm-when-wet performance
  • Lightweight high-loft insulation (35% recycled) is infused with silica aerogel, a nearly weightless material that’s com- posed of more than 95% air and acts as additional thermal insulation

I'll have to feel it in person and listen to others thoughts for this season before I make a decision. But if it's as warm as the original and packs down that small I may sell my fanatic set. Itd be sweet to pack between my backpack and beast stand for those deep mobile hunts. Even if it's not as quiet

They have a bunch of them at my local shop, the incinerator is super thin and lightweight, hard to believe it will keep you warmer than fanatic, but I certainly trust Sitka so I'm sure it will be awesome. I just dont need it that warm right now. Fanatic is about as cold as I hunt these days. I use it all the way to just under 0 degrees.

I had the older incerator bibs 2 years ago. Though they were nice, imo abit noisy using for bowhunting up close for whitetails.
The fanatic set has served me awesomely last couple years. With a couple layers under the fanatic it's good to go! And yes, I am midwest hunter

310 - How cold you typically wear your fanatic bibs? Debating on Incinerator vs Fanatic for late season. 5 - 25 degrees..

My guess on part of this: the one review citing the “half the bulk, double the warmth” has it incorrect. My guess is it’s “double the warmth per volume, so half the bulk, which equals the same warmth.”

I could be wrong but that’s just a guess based on being a little skeptical of that claim, which comes from a Black Ovis review, rather than Sitka, as far as I can tell.

The aerogel technology is pretty Impressive. Scent Lok is using it in their gear and I believe that elite or prime is using it in their grip. I found some aerogel boot liners and was impressed

Has anyone compared the new stuff to the fanatic or old incinerator line? Curious how the warmth actually compares as it seems to be close in bulk to the Stratus.
