New to AT and Just getting back to hunting

Hello!
I was a hunter for many years, many years ago and stopped for some reason about 20 years ago. Lately, I've had the urge to get back in the field. I just finished making a recurve bow for myself and am in the process of making a takedown recurve.
I'm planning to do a lot of stump-shooting over the coming summer and get myself back into shooting shape and hunting sharpness. My goal is to be ready for a late fall, early winter hog hunt. Are any of you from the LaCrosse, WI area? That is the area I plan to hunt and would welcome any advice on locations and contacts in the area.
