Been reading here and asking local folks a bunch of questions. I've heard everything from you must have a Ravin Sniper to get the cheapest...

I know opinions vary. Neighbor said get a Parker...well seems they were sold in 2018 🤣

Looking at the mission Sub 1 XR for me it (price wise) seems middle of the pack at 2500 vs a $4k crossbow šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

One question I had on scopes.

A local guy let me handle (didn't shoot) his Sniper and the rotating dial for range was spot on feature for me.. is that a standard thing to have in a crossbow??

Also since the XR is faster than the sub 1 is it more finicky with bolts? I plan on using mechanicals

Thanks for any advice

I recently purchased a Mission Sub-1 XR. Great crossbow. My experience with it is detailed in the link below. I was originally disappointed in the 2-stage trigger because it did not feel the same as my AR triggers. After shooting it enough to become familiar, I'm impressed with it. The first stage doesn't have a long pull but the second stage is crisp and I can call my shots.

The Hawke scope that comes with it has a reticle with ballistic drop compensation out to 100 yards. The magnification adjusts for the speed of the arrow, e.g., faster arrows have more magnification for the reticle to be range correct.

The Mission 250grain bolts shot best with 150gr points and their 300gr bolts shot best with 100gr points. I went with the 150gr Robusto 2.0 for mechanical on the 250gr bolts and G5s with the 300gr bolts.
