Newer hoyt guys, what’s your stabilizer set up?

I have been playing around with this quite a bit lately

I’ve tried…

Stubby plus 8” back bar

10” bar in the bottom hole

10” bar in the top hole, no stubby

10” bar in the top hole and stubby in the lower

8” sidebar stays. That’s a must for me

The only thing I haven’t tried is moving the some of the weight around from the front to the back

as odd as it looks, some of my best 60 yard+ groups have come off the 10” plus the stubby

anything under 40 I haven’t been able to establish a huge difference.

I like the feel of the stubby only as well, but when the wind gets up it’s a noticeable hinderance. I’m not willing to deal with that on a western hunt.

What have y’all found to work best for you?

Believe it or not I’ve found my favorite combo is the stubby and a 6” back bar with only 1oz on it. I do have a pic sight and integrate rest so have almost nothing hanging off the right side of my bow. I tried a longer stab on front and my groups got noticeably worse. Makes no sense to me but I’m a stubby convert for sure.

Ok I'm in the process of experimenting with Stabilisers too - I have a Garmin Pro on my RX-7 and get quite a bit of pinfloat with just the stubby on the bottom spot, due to the fact the sight sticks out the front a fair bit.... I added a standard 8" Pro Hoyt stab on the low SL sidebar mount and that has elminated quite a bit of pin float ....anyone else experimented with this setup ?? - I can't add weights to this side stab, so am waiting for the new 2022 stabs to arrive !! any observations would be gratefully received :-}

After tinkering and toying with lots of different set ups, my RX7U holds the best with a 6" stabilizer in the bottom hole and the stubby in the standard mounting hole. Not sure the stubby does anything but it's just there. I've never had a bow balance like this and mine absolutely doesn't need a back bar of any sort.

I have tried different combinations and put a QD on just for switching around. But always wind up with a 6" in the lower mount. Using the Stubby and a 6" back also was nice the bow moves onto to target quickly. With just the stubby I seem to move more and float causing me to shoot quickly. Right now I have the QD and the 6" bottom mount with 1 3/4 Oz.
If I am going to run and gun hunt would not think twice about using just the stubby.

On my new RX7 Ultra (just got it set up and brought it home tonight) I'm using a 10" 2022 Hoyt stabilizer in the bottom mount (where the stubby was) with Go Sticks and their QD, and I shifted the stubby to the left rear using an SL Hoyt rear mount.

With the 6-arrow 1-piece shorty Superlite Hoyt quiver left on and my Garmin A1i mounted to the side, the stubby adds just enough weight down low on the left side to compensate. It holds very steady and I really like the setup.

One reason I set it up the way I did is I can use the Go Sticks for stability, rotate the bow forward and lean the bow on the front of the 10" stabilizer which keeps my bottom cam off the ground and out of the dirt. Gives me another option that way.

I’m running a 12” bar out front in the lower mount with a 10 degree QD and an 8” back bar on my Ventum Pro 33. This setup holds crazy stable, almost feels like I’m cheating for a hunting rig…
