my friend invited me to hunt his land near las vegas new mexico. from what he says its family land thats been in the family for over 100 years. they have a small cattle operation but thats about it. and "its never been hunted" (approx 25,000 acres)
so i have some questions about the animals out there for those of you who may have some answers.
we would be interested in both mule deer and elk hunting so you can answer the questions for either or both species!
what is the quality of elk and mule deer in that area?
how is the terrain?
when would you recommend going out there with the best chances for success (since its our first trip it does not have to be with a bow, we just want to explore and see what its like and we dont mind bringing gun along)
what is the weather like at various times?
if we went mid-late sept for bow elk?
early oct?
those would be our primary opportunities to go out.
re those good times to hunt?
basically anything you can tell me is better then what i know about the area as of now. (unless your one of those people who say "no deer here". you can go away)
and if u want post some pics so i can see what its like out there.
