i just had a shop put a new string and cables on for me and when he served the nocking point it is like 1/8 to 3/16" bigger than the nock(i told them what kinda arrows i use and he has a bunch of em), this isnt right....right? doesnt seem right to me

I'd expect a little more service from a shop if I paid them or if I was a regular.

If they won't reserve it for you correctly, just serve it yourself is what I'd suggest.

Are you using a D-loop or shooting with your release attached directly to the string under the arrow nock?

If the second is the case, then you need to have the space a little larger than the arrow nock to allow for it to pivot at full draw. The shorter the axle to axle length of the bow, the more space you need.

Maybe the guy actually knew what he was doing?

Now if you have a D-loop around the nock, then you will have consistency problems. If you need any help, let me know, you are not that far away.
