Non-slip on your treestand platform

I just recently bought a new Olman alumalite cts. I was talking to some coworkers and they mentioned I should add some no-slip tape to the bottom platform. If you have seen the cts it has about 2 inch wide slats spaced out for the bottom platform. They have a groove for traction but what about frost or being wet. It has more smooth surface than it does grooves. It has me wondering if I could possibly slip while standing on the platform. I thought about it and come up with using the non-slip tape or maybe a undercoating or spray in bed liner. I think the spray on bed liner would look cool. If I just taped it off and sprayed the slats only. What do you guys think? Is it possible? Does anyone have any experience with this stand. I haven't had a chance to really try it out yet. Hooked it up in the backyard and played around but that was about it. No real bow hunting use yet. This weekend it will be on.

Not to mention, a spray on bed liner or paint of any type is going to take weeks to stop fuming off. I wouldn't try it if I was wanting to hunt this or next weekend. Go with the tape instead.

I spray all of my stands with rubberized undercoating and zip tie Olifin indoor/outdoor carpet to the base. I do it for noise but the only time it is slick is when you have a bunch of frozen snow on it. But then everything is slick then.

Ches.

Having a little insulation between your shoe soles and frozen metal should not be under appreciated. Many years ago I was standing in my Loggy Bayou climber wondering why my feet were always colder in a tree than on the ground. :set1_thinking:

 Aluminum gets cold and stays cold being how the surrounding temps are cold..... My first climber was a Baker with a solid plywood platform and my feet did not get nearly as cold as they did on bare metal.

Carpet means we have warmer feet when it's cold. It is quieter under foot and especially when you drop something. If your lucky that something you dropped does not leave the platform.

I tried the stand out this morning for the first time. The black oak that I normally hunt from in my morning spot is pretty large at the base. So the stand is at a good 45 degrees at the base. I didn't slip and fall but the grip tape would be helpful. I like to wear shoes instead of boots till it gets down into the teens. Seems like I can slip through the woods better with shoes even though it was 26 this morning. I'll try the grip tape out this evening. seems like the best way. My old api has grip tape on it and its from the 90's. Thanks for all the comments.
