why i thought you'd never ask......

yes i do highly recommend it.....speaking from my personal experience with it....it definately helps me to be able do draw and hold on target....not slightly off, but dead on target.....

i simply close the clasp around the d-loop.....i than apply my thumb to the saftey post....draw the bow back.....and once i get myself into my anchor postion (which i am now fully on target) i slide my thumb off the release and stare straight on into the center of the x or bullseye....and slightly pull....i dont twist my hand, i dont try to use my shoulders...i ever so slightly pull back with my arm attached to my release hand.....and i can honestly say.....i dont know when my shot goes off till it has already gone off....

i will say....i am still out of comfort each time my shot goes off...as i have never ever shot this way....

last weekend, i used this release and a new bow and new arrows....shot in my marks right before i shot a half of a field round....i shot a 265 half with a 16 end and a 18 end on the bunny.....so i think in the short end and long run....i will see some definate improvement in my scores....

monday i shot a half of a vegas round in the barn...and shot 150 with 10x.....for me that is awesome...as i was shooting 295 or so with a total of 12x average.....so it is paying off instantly for me indoors....

i have been reading some posts on here about others asking certain questions as how it compares to other releases....i dont know....only that i can answer that the evolution does indeed shoot consistant if you draw and anchor consistant.....it has no misfires at all....and yes, i have drawn it and let it down many times....

i will have this release this weekend at snowshoe for anyone there to view and check out.....

Thank you very much for that info, sounds like your liking the Evolution alot, man you are improving with it, good job. I have shot a Scott release of my sons that was similiar. Presently I am shooting a Tru Ball BT Gold and trying to get out of pulling any with my arm and adjusting everything so I can get into my back muscles better, I assume you corporate your back muscles in your shot somewhat, it sounds very interesting and rather simple to operate, and your getting a surprise release obviously, can't get any better than that. How do you think it would work for me and my efforts to get away from pulling with arm and solely using back tension. Right now I will not release an arrow unless I am using the proper BT. My son (drtnshtr) and Nuts & Bolts are working with me on proper form, (which I lack) big time, but now with their help I feel like it is coming back and with good practice hopefully will make me a better shooter. If you think the Evolution would help in my efforts for improvement I will purchase one ASAP. I thank you much for getting back with me, I am glad you like the release and good luck with it, Dave Dave

you know...your asking me good questions....but i honetly dont know the answers...because i dont think i am using "real bt" methods....once at anchor for me....i really just slightly start pulling through the shot....and im pretty sure i use all right arm....im sure that if you have this release set properly, true back tension would be simple....

i tell ya....i will ask darrinm this weekend how he uses his...he is a true bt shooter....he did mention to me that he really likes it...but ive seen him in action....he always carrys 3 releases when he shoots...and ive never seen him use the same one for more than a few shots...so ill be curious to how he incorporates this release into that......and honestly...he is the one who called me and said that he requested this release for him and i to test.....he said that this was the release for me...and he has been right...and he said for him he thought it was more of a indoor release for him...that much i did get out of him....

ill get the scoop this weekend on how it works with true bt methods....

Hi Dave Dave:

From what I read, and especially since OBT says so,
I think the Evolution is a great release, and I think you will like it tremendously.

OBT:Will be anxious to hear how darrinm uses the release. Thanks alot for getting back with me, it really sounds good.
Nuts&Bolts, thanks very much for your input, OBT is having alot of success with it and improving his scores alot. I am quite sure I will get one after hearing what OBT said about it, and your input closed the deal for sure. Thanks again, Dave Dave

I have used it with back tension. It works pretty well. The ones I shot were the ones Jerry had in his sack though and prototypes. I also shot one Dee had in his sack too which was a prototype.

I haven't shot the final model, but I know it at least as good as the ones I have shot. Pulling with your back to use this release is no different than any other. Backtension is backtension.

It is a nice release.

This maybe a stupid question but: Once you disengage the safety, can you engage it again (under all that pressure) by simply pressing it with the thumb again, and let the string down?

Dado, OBT has drawn it and let down several times without one bloody nose, just push in on the button, and let down, i guess it is that simple.
