Good afternoon all,
Looking for any reviews from previous clients of Ohio Bow Hunting Outfitters ran by Bill Pyle. Seems like a nice and knowledgeable guy.

Any feedback is appreciated and feel free to private message if you don't want to put it out in public too.

Thank you

First of all one of two bowsite reviews isn’t even for the OBO. It’s for a different outfitter.

I think for the money Bill and his son give you a decent hunt. Most of his properties are in Knox and Licking counties and you’d be hard pressed to find better counties in Ohio. He has decent food and accommodations. And like I said decent value for the money. If there is any negative I would be say he like most outfitters run a lot guys through after all that’s where the money is when an outfitter is priced in the average range.
I think I hunted with Bill three times a few year period after I lost my lease in licking county.

I have hunted 3 years there. 1st year my son shot a big 11 pt. 2nd year we passed on 2 we probably should have shot. This last year I shot a wide 11 pt (about 145"). We are going back in 2025. Bill, Neal and Joan run a great operation. Great rooms, great food, lots of farms under lease, excellent stands, a lot of scouting been done, each morning they go over the best stand based on trail cam photos and wind direction. I recommend OBO if you want to hunt Licking or Knox county in Ohio.

I've hunted a few times with both RD's Whitetails, and Widerack Outfitters. Both of which I would hunt with again, no question.
One I would NOT recommend, Trophy Room Adventures. A complete and total money grab. I did a review thread on them here a few years back I think.. Terrible all the way around.

I can only answer for myself, but for me, it comes down to time. I'd rather spend what little time I have in the stand vs scouting or looking for areas that haven't been pounded by other hunters already. And it's nice to have a place to stay all set up, meals ready, etc. Just show up and hunt.
I've hunted OH 5 times, and for me it's a 13.5 hour drive each way. So when I get there, the last thing I feel like doing is scouting and hanging stands and all that. It's nice to show up and have everything ready for you.

There is 5 state parks in 45 min drive of me and enough hotels.

Lots of turd outfitters in the state (Two Creeks Athens is one)....have heard good things about J&C.... and it starts with youll see giants and then youre eating your tag or shooting a 2-3yo. The top end quality of OH is going down fast...if you want a giant get one Columbus lease..far from cheap or serene but the biggest deer in the state.
