I have an old , right hand bow, that has a Herters emblem on the lower limb, on the upper outside part of riser it states that it is 57# @28 ", with the number 20462004 below.Is there a place that one could find out when this bow was prodiced and what the AMO length is ?

I don't know but I remember Herters. THey were a huge mail order sporting catalogue that featured all kinds of stuff and some tall advertising claims. I think they were based in Wisconsin or Minnesota and their heyday was prior to the GCA of 68 because they did a large firearm mail order business. Even in the 70's their catalog was a couple inches thick and featured a bunch of bows. I believe the guy who runs Barrie archery worked for them back then.

I believe, like sears, someone else made their bows -which had a decent reputation. I saw a herter's catalogue recently but it was rather thin-it featured duck decoys etc so they still exist in some form to this day
