i just bought a hoyt magnatec bow as my first bow. I need some assistance/advice on what to purchase. it is an older model. (arrow rest, stab. sights,ect.) ty

How do you shoot with it? I suggest maybe some kind of drop away rest. Possibly a stabalizer. Are the sights old? Mine are and I'm going to upgrade them next. I've found you can really personalize your bow as much or as little as you want to.

The Magnatec is a nice bow for you. They were a good value and it should make you a nice all around bow. I would stick with SIMPLE accessories. Do not get caught up into the hype of all of the so called high tec stuff out there. What all do you need?
Keep it cheap and simple to start out. You don't want to spend a whole lot to find out archery just isn't for you. For a starter a would highly recommend a whisker biscuit rest. It's easy to set up, fool proof and very safe. You can find some good used sights under the classifieds here for a reasonable price.
