I shot my first whitetail of the season on opening evening out of a stand at a good friends ranch in NW OKlahoma. He came in at 22 yards and the shot met his heart and lungs broadside. The montec only let him go 65 yards. This is a great start considering I was unable to secure a buck with a bow last year and to do it on opening day the following season is a great way to kick off the season! Although I've seen better deer throughout the weekend, I just could not pass up a buck like this on opening day following such a knock down drag out season last year! Redemption!! Really lookin forward to what's to come the next few months.
