I see a lot of guys on here that hunt in Pa as I do. Most people have a general area SW or something and everybody seems to have a different idea on how the GC is manageing the heard where you live or hunt.

I live on the boarder of Allegheny and Westmoreland County in GMU 2B. I hunt the same area. As far as I am concerned in my personal view of activity The deer population is grossly down and this year there were limited legal bucks taken.

Give us some input so we can get a better idea of how things compare from the people that are in the woods, as opposed to the people who are manageing the heard but never seem to step in it.

I live in York Co but I hunt in area 3B {Lycoming Co}. This year I seen a large number of bucks with almost all of them 6 point or larger. I even saw two that would go 140 to 150 class. But the number of doe are way down. I spent at least 30 days this fall in the wood either hunting or scouting so I know what is in my area and the doe to buck has to be almost 1/1. I had numerous days in my stand that all I seen was bucks. I might have only seen 3 deer all day but all 3 would be bucks. I am all in favor for the AR { it is working great in my area} but I would like to see the number of does killed decreased.

Luzurne county....4C around the White Haven area.
Archery season was Fantastic. Deer all over the place at any given time. As soon as rifle season hit i didn't see very many at all. The first 3 hours i saw 16 doe (mostly tiny deer) and the rest of the season I saw about 5 more including the one i shot. Didn't see ANY buck at all despite the fact i know they are around.

now in bradford co., where our hunting camp is, the deer sightings were far and few between. not the norm like the past 4-5 yrs. i think the northern tier co's. are getting hit to much. two other camps did not hunt those two weeks in bradford. could be a good idea to go back to the old "3 day" doe season.......................what u all think??????????????

I also live close to the Westmorland county line in White Oak. I also hunt local and I can truly say I have seen a good many deer. No big bucks, not even a legal buck, but many deer.

I live in Mifflin County and hunt 4b which is all land around me. Archery was the same for me as before I hunted all private land saw many more doe than bucks and a few nice bucks also took my first buck with a bow and shot my 4th doe. I went with my father in rifle season and saw very few deer while hunting on public land. Also out of 20 some guys at my camp none took a buck and only 3 does were killed (public land). I know it would be really hard to do but I think the management units need to be smaller and more specialized. I also like the old idea of having private land tags.

I live in Juniata County, and hunt 4d most of the time, and 4b on occasion. The overall number of deer were way down. I hunted exclusively private land during archery season, and in early part of season wasn't seeing anything. Lots of standing corn until late October. Was able to harvest a really nice 7 point on Nov. 3. I did start too see many bucks that weren't legal, spikes, 3 point, and one very nice 4 point. Older deer with no brows. I didn't see a doe to shoot until the last night of archery, and it was small, so I didn't shoot. Also on the last night I did see a real whopper. 10 point maybe scored low 130's. Walked in at 10 yards, and stood watching the little doe that I passed on. Man it hurt to watch him walk away. He was killed the first morning of rifle season on neighbors ground. A very big 8 was also seen in rifle season, didn't hear of anyone taking him so there is hope for next year. The rifle hunters really took out the does on the private ground I hunted. 10 killed the first day. Also juniors took out 2-3pointers, and a spike. I didn't kill a doe in rifle season either. Man it was tough. I hunted hard the first two days, and passed on a few shots. I also hunted dawn til dark both saturdays, and only saw one deer. Very unusual for the ground I hunt. I think I will be out there this afternoon. Just talked to my uncle, and the flintlock guys saw 12 yesterday, all does nobody got any, but lots of shooting.l

3D Monroe county I've seen lots of nice bucks before the season a few during bow and when rifle hits nothing and still nothing havn't seen a buck
any where except spikes but I'm still searching they are somewhere !!
I also would have to say the doe population is down but I believe it cycles.
many may not agree with antler restrictions but in my opinion it is working every year I see bigger bucks!!

Same area, Hunt 1B I live just 1/2 mile south of the NY state line south of Jamestown NY.

I plan on hooking up with G2ShootR, I used to hunt closer to him and have some honeyholes to show him.

i live and hunt in 2b penn hills/monroeville area. i have noticed the buck activity has been low this year. i think the mild weather has a little to do with it. the area i hunt has been known for monster bucks, but they are mostly nocturnal. i have over 90 hrs. in the stand during the regular bow season and seen only small bucks. now, i went out on this past Monday when it was like 18 degrees in the evening and kicked out a doe and a very wide buck from under my stand. the buck never came back. i hunted yesterday and seen no deer.
