Yes they are! Somewhat similar to a over ripe banana is the closest I can think of.Yes, they will! You should find a ripe one and try it, they are awesome!
Due to higher tannin levels in red oak acorns deer don't seem to hit them as much (here at least). They are very bitter compared to white oak which are less tanic and deer will demolish those. I'd say if you have a decent amount of papaws I'd hunt close and see what happens.what do they perfer more red oaks or paw paws
