Podium Titanium Halfsert

I watched a you tube review of Podiums Titanium system he called a “halfsert”. Is that the same as a “half out”? I’ve read a few times to stay away from half outs. ?

I feel like I need a Cliff Notes tutorial of all the components and their pros and cons. Correct me if I’m wrong but some say the internal part of the insert can be aluminum and the stainless collar gives it the integrity (I think much of the Ethics components are this way). Then if you speak to Victory they say go stainless inside and aluminum on the outside is more than enough integrity because it’s the internal that’s more important.?

But mostly curious about the Podium titanium and whether they are “half outs” and If there are downsides to be aware of? (This will mostly likely be used in a 204 shaft hunting arrow) thx

They’re half outs. Not a fan. Better choices IMO. Easton makes a Ti half out as well.

I don't know about those but I use halfouts and never had an issue. Dont be afraid to use halfouts.

Are half-ins just as good?

Seriously, though, i have used all 3 of the easton half outs (al, ss, and ti) and like them all. Never bent, never broken, no issues removing from target. I know nothing about podium's half outs.

I have no issue with half outs, just rather use Firenock or Eastons.

They are titanium, not going to bend. You might "blowout" the side wall of the shaft, but if your hitting something that hard something is going to give. Easier to get out of targets than using a collar

They’ll bend. I’ve bent a few Ti half outs. Not saying they aren’t tough, but they will absolutely bend without shaft breaking on critters

I’ve had the Podium titanium half-outs bend. Back to a HIT insert with a sleeve.

Everyone will bend. Period. It’s impossible not to. I’ve bent them, blown out the side of arrows, or had them get hung up inside bags targets. Standard diameter shafts with 100 grain inserts in the front is as tough as it gets for me.
60+ years in archery & you couldn't give me ANY half insert or outserts! JUNK!

Is anyone running the half-outs and the collars? Like stock gold tip collars? I have some Airstrike arrows to make and was contemplating using the Podium halfserts and the gold tip collar. Not sure if it’s needed.

I’ve given up on anything other than a standard insert or hit. It’s the variety of weights available in those options I just don’t see needing a 4 mm arrow that badly.

I run Airstrikes with the stock aluminum insert, along with a 20gr FACT weight. I’m within 5 grains of these podium inserts and they have seemed to do just fine.

Who's?
I’ve used the Ethics HIT inserts with either Top Hat arrow protector rings (you can get them at Lancaster) or the Ethics Endcaps. Have also used the iron will HIT inserts and sleeves, but they’re so expensive, and the other options mentioned above seem to work just as well. Zero failures on the front end of my arrows even with direct hits on concrete and rocks.

Did you use the supplied collar or just the supplied half-sert from GT?
I've never used the Podium ones but they seem expensive.. I use either the stainless black eagle or the gold tip trad for my arrows. I shoot a pretty tough arrow and have never bent one of the 2 I mentioned. I've bounced arrows off of rocks shot through bone etc.. I'd like to see a bent one honestly. They only stick out maybe 5/16 past the arrow and are pretty solid.

I could see that garbage that is 3/4 to an inch longer than the arrow bending. I've had too many hits blow out and collars just hang in the target too much for me. I like to be able to pull the insert if I need too . I've had a couple nocks break flush. With the hits I had to toss the arrows and that's a waste..

How did this bend? Hard hit into a rock?

Doing some research on these half outs. They seem legit. You aren't going to get 100% success rate on bad hits with just about anything.

You'd be surprised what a HIT and stainless collar can survive.

Currently running a 50 grain brass hit with the 40 grain ethics stainless collar and have yet to ruin one. Ive broken a few arrows but the collar and insert hold up and since I use kimsha hot melt I just reuse the components and they spin perfect on the next arrow. IMO Its the end all be all as far as durability goes and not sure why anyone one would shoot anything else.

I also use hit and collar and yet to ruin the hit insert or get a wobble with BH. I'm glad you said what you glue yours in with I may have try that out
