well i would say your distance is in your skill and confidence and only you will know that...don't let someone else set your standards or limitations, but i would say those distances seem awful far!

150# is a little light for elk. I've got a 350# slingshot that I'm using for rabbits.

English longbowmen(sp) could punch straight through plate armor at 200 yards. It would be hard to aim on an elk at 100 let alone 350.
