Potential issue with the SS34

I have close to 500 shots on this set of strings. I am seeing some heavy wear on my one cable. It is shaving the serving. The bottom seems fine. However, the edge of the cam where the cable rolls over is sharp. Not sure why Bowtech machined the cam that way. I plan to have my dealer look at it this week.

Here are some pictures. Not a serving diameter issue. :)

last pic shows the cable leaving the cam at a pretty steep angle. Are the cables routed through the cable guide correctly?

I believe so.

Who made those strings? It is possible that they used more strands per bundle than factory, or a thicker serving. Bowtech's string and cable channels are fairly narrow to adding a couple extra strands can make a difference.

End serving is .100”, so not the issue.

Didn't actually answer a big part of the question...who made the strings? With aftermarket strings I wouldn't jump straight to there being an issue with the bow over an issue with the string build. Especially if it's not a major builder. I could see if it was a set of factory strings (as those are guaranteed to be built to factory specs).

I did. Built with 22 strands of 452X, low wax. Served with .014 Halo. Finished diameter was .100”. My factory cables measured .102”.

That would explain why you think it's a bow issue. Hate to say it, but I still wouldn't assume it was a bow issue. Maybe make another set, solid color rather than 2 color, and see if it does the same thing. I know that you trust your work, but if this is your first build for this model it might be better to just rule out something on your side. I know that our string builder has had to change some things on builds for Bowtechs in order for them to work properly.

The cables look like they have a steep angle coming off the cam.
Is the arrow the proper distance from the riser, you could be making up for this by moving the cams away from the cable rollers (cams left on a RH bow)?
Is the cable guide front most screw bottomed out this could cause the cables being puller too far right on a RH bow, I think you would back out the screw until just before you have fletching contact?
I could be way overthinking this like I normally do…..

I get what you are saying, but Bowtech’s are notorious for small cable tracks, so used to building them. Since the bottom cable shows no wear, I am going back to an issue with the bow. Maybe my dealer will tell me otherwise.

I haven’t touched the Deadlock adjustment yet. What’s odd is the bottom cable is fine.

I bet If you looked at the cable at full draw, you would have similar wear to what I’m seeing. The separation off the loop sucks though.

I really don’t see the much to worry about. I get the same looking issues with all of my bows when replacing strings. Especially when I’m using a hi-viz color. My RX7U looks identical with 2 different string makers 👍🏼

I'd tune the bow properly before thinking it's the bow. The top cam is closer to the rollers so it's going to have a bit steeper angle. My guess is if you set center shot you'll probably move the cams right a touch to tune and solve the problem.
