Has anyone hunted out at Lamine River Conservation Area or Prairie Home Conservation. I live in Jefferson City and am trying to find some more productive ground near home. Any info is greatly appreciated.
I haven't lived in that area since 2006, so take this for what it's worth. I don't remember Prairie Home being worth much for bow hunting. I remember scouting it but I never hunted it. Lamine River, on the other hand, was one of my favorite places to hunt, second only to Ralph and Martha Perry (further west). Does were super easy to find and kill and the buck hunting wasn't half bad either. Pressure was pretty light compared to most areas and there was a lot of land to go around to. I'm sorry but I don't remember specific locations any more...maybe if I was looking at a map. Are the areas out by you not worth a damn? I'm interested because I was interested in retiring in the Jeff City/Columbia area in about 6-10 years. Thanks.
