Prepping some arrows to be fletch and was wondering if anyone has ever used witchhazel to clean the shafts instead of alcohol?

I wouldn't because of the additives in it.

Just get them good and clean with hot water, soap and a scouring pad (but one that's not too abrasive). The hot water lets them air dry very quickly (just like when cleaning a muzzleloader), within two minutes if you shake the excess water off. I have done this with quite a few arrows and have ZERO problems with adhesion using FT Platinum glue.

I just dampen a paper towel lightly and use a littile lacquer thinner. Been doing it for yrs and never had a problem yet!
