does anyone know if you need to loosen the screws or back off the poundage before pressing the Trykon. I built the press by midlife Crisis.

Back em out

According to the manual you must back the limb bolts out 5-7 turns from bottomed out position. You can't go wrong if you follow the book. Hope this helps.

Yup hoyt recomends 5-7 turns.
