I have just switched to the new G5 Optix SE Sight and have trouble already with the pin microadjustment. You have to loosen 1 allen screw and then turn another allen screw either clockwise or counter-clockwise to make the pins go up or down.

My problem started after I had made my adjustment and when I was retightening the allen screw on the pin itself. The small screw would not tighten up, but will turn freely.

I went ahead and shot the bow and sure enough, there is a rattle coming from inside the housing of the sight.

Has anyone had any experience like this with the new G5 sight?

I had the exact same problem. The screw is stripped and will continue to rattle no matter what you do. I called G5 and spoke with Debbie Luttman (I think that's her name). She immediately sent me a new pin and screw. After attempting to put the new pin in I realized that the outside screw was not engaging the pin and turning it did not move the pin up or down. I spoke with her again and then sent the whole back "plate" in on Wednesday (I kept the housing which was my choice b/c I like the camo). So hopefully this will fix the problem. Just give them a call or e-mail her and she will get you fixed up I'm sure. The customer service has been great so far, but as far as the sight itself....(except for the looks) I can't come up with many positives on it yet and for now wouldn't recommend one. Hopefully it will get better though.

I have a rattle in my sight also. All of my pin screws seem to be good.
It's really bugging the crap out of me.
I think I want to just get a refund if this is some sort of persistent problem.

Ok. So I went to tinkering with the G5 site again and it was just the allen bolts that move the pins. Just loose I guess. I was a little afraid to tighten them to much but so far so good.
I like the sight. It's lite as heck and I dig the way the pin light only shines on the fibers.
Looks good on my Ross too.
