I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with their Cuddeback cameras? I might buy one here soon, but a friend of mine is going through some trouble right now with that company and 3 of his cameras.
He bought 3 of the Cuddeback 1.3 cams 18 months ago. After about 12 months 2 of the cameras were not working properly and he was getting a lot of "nothing" pictures and they weren't taking night pictures. After shipping them back they were repaired and returned 3 weeks later.
Now, just 12 months later ALL 3 cameras have burnt out flash bulbs. Each occurred in the month of July. When he contacted Non-typical they informed him they could be repaired at $80.00 per camera, plus shipping. $240.00+ total! He has already spent $1200 on the cameras and now must pay to have them repaired after not even 2 years of use. That is unbelievable. He is so upset by this that he refuses to have them repaired (for now, until he breaks down maybe) and the cameras are in the woods snapping daylight photos only right now. What a waste of money.
I've also heard that there are problems being reported with the new Cuddeback IR flash ($450 camera). If this is true, can anyone confirm this? Again, I was leaning towards getting one because I hear so much good about them and have done a lot of research on them, but after these experiences I am very hesitant as the cameras I have now are not giving me any problems for 1/3 of the cost. And the one that did I sent back and got repaired at no charge in less than 2 weeks!
Thanks for any info.
