I know rants like this have been posted in the past, but it amazes me the manufacturer/dealer network that completely inhibits the ability for archers that are self-technicians from working on and servicing their own equipment! Like thousands of us on AT, I purchased my PSE bow here on AT, so I do not have a warranty...no big deal and not what I am complaining about. I had a nock explode and the bow went with it and derailed. In the process the lower cam was damaged. I now need to replace it to try and get ready for the Louisiana ASA. I called PSE and spoke with them about purchasing new cams at any cost, so I can get back up and running. Here is where they tell me that they will not sell direct to end-users, and I have to go through a dealer. I live out in the middle of South Central Texas where the ONLY delaer is 45 miles from me. Throw in the fact that most dealers, who do not sell the bow to you, could give two #$%*& about you.......I am not looking forward to this! I am now re-evaluating my decision to shoot PSE equipment. I am now seeing the value in doing business with mid-major companies like Elite, Athens or New Breed! Having been in this industry for quite a long time, I am losing my respect for the BIG manufacturers who in my opinion dont give a damn about their end use customers.

Warranty>good!! Just glad I go through a local pro shop to buy and have my bow(s) serviced. My pro shop owner and friend backs up his sales and work 100%! Will never consider buying a bow anywhere else PERIOD!!

+1... There are benefits to dealing with a pro-shop... yes it costs more, but someone with manufacturer contacts and pull is invaluable when you're in a bind. I've bought bows outside of my local shop, but I'm careful to maintain that relationship and do enough business with them that they are willing to go to bat for me when I need them (generally that means buying everything besides the bow, which I only bought elsewhere because they could not get an out of production model for me).

Your signature line says "Wheelers Outfitters Shooter, Best Shop in South Central Texas"....why can't they handle it? A phone call from you should suffice if you are a staff shooter for them. Save you at least one 45 mile trip. Imagine if PSE catered to every single bow owner in the US when they had a problem, warranty issue or not. See why they ask that dealers be used? Taking requests from individual bow owners opens up a huge can of worms, there is a lot if us...... :)

Athens deals with individuals every day. Just saying.
And I am sure that there are others that will too.
I am sure to get flamed, but Athens also offers TRANSFERABLE, LIFETIME warranties on their bows.
Call the office and you get a live person, and a nice one at that, to speak to.
I can only say this because it has been my personal experience. I am not a fanboy as I own other bows too, but I have had bad CS from the other big four and is one of the reasons why I tried the Athens bows. I have not been sorry.

The problem I have is that the Pro Shop that I frequent (leagues year around and all accessories) does not carry PSE, so I was screwed! Or I drive 45 miles vs. 15 miles and start relationship with new shop! That just doesn't make sense. I guess I should have taken into consideration on which manufacturer to shoot by what my local Pro Shop carries. I just never dreamed I couldnt pay full retail price for new cams!!

I wasn't asking PSE to cover warranty, or receive my bow and fix it. I just wanted parts so that I could take them into the shop and fix the bow myself! That is where I have a problem. I understand manufacturers not wanting to honor "shade tree" warranties or working on "Individuals" bows, but not selling parts......that is BS!

move out in the middle of nowhere and then complain about driving to get somewhere!
PSE has the best service, of anyone out there.
they ask you to do something, and your upset.....they didn't break it ,you did!
if they did sell to you direct ,and something happened, you'd still be wanting to sue/or bring legal action against them.

get your big boy pants on and quit whinning about something, you can't fix on here!

I see your gripe man, if they sell bows straight off their website you should be able to purchase parts for those bows too direct from them...only makes sense.[/QUOTE

This, it makes no sense that a bow company that allows you to purchase a bow direct off the internet wouldn't sell you a set of cams. I can understand companies like Hoyt that only sell bows through dealers not allowing direct sales.

If PSE allows direct selling of bows I think it odd they wouldn't sell parts as well.

Does Chevy sell cars from their website? No. If you sell directly to the public like PSE does, then you need to sell the parts to support those products/sales. Otherwise, stop selling directly to the public like most manufactures and you wont have this issue as much thus requiring people to go through dealers like you mention.

I would contact your area Rep and have him help!! You can find all the Rep info on the PSE website, numbers and emails included. I would think your shop could get you cams if they call PSE and have the bow serial number on hand.

Nope, I tried that. Because my local shop quit carrying the line, their account was inactivated. She wouldnt sell them to the shop!

I agree with the other guy, they sell the darned bows on-line. What do they do to service those customers if there are issues?!?!?

Here is the deal, and I know alot of you will understand this, as we are all avid outdoorsman. I used to shoot alot of competition trap and skeet. And like archery, there are tens of thousands of person to person sales through web-sites and face to face transactions. If I purchased a Remington 1100 through gun-broker.com, and had a trigger shoe brake, I could pick up the phone, call Remington and promptly order and receive a new trigger shoe; that easy! It makes absolutely no sense the Archery community couldnt handle these situations in the same manner. Heck, the price of bows is fast approaching the price of guns, so the markets are very similar!

My experience with PSE has been terrible. Try calling them for technical help with one of there bow... its a joke. Or, I had a problems with a doz of PSE X-weave pro arrows. Bottom line....I was told "We are in the bow business not the arrow business". Oops, the name on the arrows was PSE X-Weave pros...NO MORE PSE PRODUCTS FOR ME.....EVER!!!

First of all all you need to do is ask, I got mine through a dealer no problem. What dio you not understand find a dealer and he will get the cams, limbs or whatever else for y'all. Quit acting like you would not drive 45 minutes to buy something ok, I mean D**n

I've been saying this for a long time. I can't walk into the factory and get spacers if I needed them. It's amazing that there is no door connecting the pro shop to the factory lol!

Hoyt has plenty of parts in the used market as well as easy to get then from Hoyt through a dealer.

To the OP: First let me say I am sorry that you feel that PSE is blowing you off. That is the policy...Not to say that policies can't and/or won't be broken. The policy was put in place because dealers complained bitterly and loudly about PSE selling parts to consumers and leaving them out. Their complaint is as just legit as yours! It's kind of like peace in the middle east hard to find a middle ground sometimes. As stated earlier PSE uses Shopatron so purchases are driven through dealers. Now here's a thought instead of coming on to AT just to complain about PSE maybe take a breath and catch more flies with honey than vinegar. AT is "Archer's helping Archers". So with that in mind what cam do you need? If I have it I will help you out. JB

I say go to youre local dealer and if they wont help you then call PSE and give them the dealers name. the time it took you to cry about how PSE's cs is, then you could have already had cams off here on archery talk or somewhere else. Ive had nothing but good things to say about that company

The way i see it it is like you are calling up Ford headquarters and asking them to sell you a new transmission for your truck and then getting pissed off when they tell you to goto a dealership to order one. It is just the way some companies do business.
