Just got an Omen Pro here in the classifieds and am in the process getting it set up and shooting good.


It is a 28/70, I turned the limb bolts all the way down and on the scale at a shop yesterday it is only pulling 68 and change instead of at or above 70. Is this common? What can be done as far as twisting cables to get the poundage up?

The cams appear to be in time from me just eyeballing them but I havnt got it in a draw board yet which I plan to do.

It has aftermarket proline strings and an unknown aftermarket cable slide.

I slapped a prong style rest on there for now as I have a QAD HD coming that I will use. to The rest is by no means on there perfect, I basically eyeballed it to be even. Could this be slowing the arrow down?

Yesterday at the shop I chronoed a 367g arrow to be going an average of about 319-321. I would think this is about 10 or so FPS slow?

What do you think could be up with it? Do you think the arrow rest could be causing the arrow to come out funny and slowing it down? It did shoot basically bullet holes at 6-8 feet back.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Just happened to get my QAD HD in the mail and it doesnt fit on the bow because the capture bar hits the cable rod? Might have to adjust the cable rod.

Take the capture bar off an see if that helps. Just lock the launcher up to contain your arrow.

you can twist the cables a twist or 2 but Id check ATA and BH first.

ATA and BH are almost spot on.

They make a second spacer to bring the whole thing out to clear the cable rod. I had the 06 model Hd that I took a drumel tool to. I ground down the part that hit the cable rod on my Axe 6. That did the trick for me, gave me at least a 1/4" extra vertical travel. My QAD was black so I jused some satin block paint on it, looks OK.

Couple twists in the cables will gain the poundage back it's lost...That is coming in slow, it should be faster than that, get the poundage up there and make sure the cams are in time.

Looks like your aftermarket string doesn't have sppen nocks installed???

You are within 2# of the peak weight stated for this bow. 68# is within this tolerance given by PSE.

AS for speed, depending on the accuracy of the chrono you used, you are within the speed that this bow shoots based on how you have it set up. This bow IBOs between 358 and 366 fps, it appears yours is around the low end of this range after I ran your numbers throught my spreadsheet.

Good eye on the missing speed nocks... They make a big difference on the PSE bows.

There is a D loop and G5 peep on the string.

There are no speed nocks on the string, what are the best kind and what position do they belong in for optimal performance?

What is the best cable slide?

IBO Specs - 30" draw/70lb draw weight and a 350gr arrow.

For every inch of draw length you go down you will lose 10 FPS

For every 5# draw weight you go down you will lose 10 FPS

For every 3 grains of weight your arrow is over IBO ( 5 grains per pound) you will lose 1 FPS

For every 3 grains of weight you add to your string you will lose 1 FPS.

The IBO is 358-366 but I also heard the average was 366.

If it was 366, I would gain like 8 fps.
