I had been looking at the Evoke and came across the Response. I am thinking I could get the Evolve cam system and save some cash. It would be used for hunting and back yard shooting. Does anyone have this bow and could give me any info on it? Also, for 2019 what if any changes were made from 2018?

I used to have an Evolve, sold it and bought a Response and like it better than the Evolve, its lighter, thinner grip, better balanced than the Evovle. It has the Evolve cam, it's a little slower, which I'm not worried about, 7" brace height, easy on shoulder, and very accurate and easy to tune, plus cheaper in price. I highly recommend the Response.

I'd probably just buy a used Evoke since you can buy one for around the same as a new Response but I MUCH prefer the grip on the Response to the Evolve bows. If I were looking at the Response I'd also be shooting the Xpedite to see if the short brace makes THAT much difference to me cause that bow smokes and, IMO, is easy to shoot for a short brace bow.

The Evoke is about 200.00+ more. What I didn’t care for on the Evoke was the long heavy riser and short wide limbs. After seeing the Resonse specs of the 33” ATA, 7” brace with the Evolve cams, and the riser/limb configuration, it seems like the bow for me. My current hunting bow is a Hoyt Rampage XT and I like everything about it but the cams. The Response would closely duplicate the size with better cams.

It's a good bow, if you like the lighter weight, look at the limited run Evoke LT. It is a 31" ATA though so you would be going shorter...

Another good option is actually the Drive XL with 3B cams. The 3B has almost the same draw cycle as the Evolve cam, but with a fixed 85%. Since it does not have the internal floating yokes, it is actually cheaper to get new strings too. The Drive XL is the exact bow as the Response, just with 3B cams instead and a much cheaper price tag.

You also mentioned strings above in a post, and I can tell you I have been VERY pleased with PSE's Livewires. For factory threads, they hold very well. Don't get me wrong, some custom threads are better built (mainly in the end servings) but I've seen very little creep on PSEs with Livewires and a ton of shots in them.

After shooting the Evoke 35 I had to buy it, it just has too many pros over the Response for only a couple hundred more dollars, the only downside is it is heavy, but that weight probably adds to the stability and shoot ability of the bow. After having it a while I’m really glad I bought it. It shoots so smooth and so stable it was the easiest bow I ever tuned. It’s such a pleasure to shoot I couldn’t deny myself. I also really like the 35” ATA for both added stability, string angle, and peep position. Although I can use it for hunting it will be mostly a toy.

I’m sure Response will do well for you. A couple years ago I had the Epix which was not there pro series bow. Great value for sure and one of the fastest bows I’ve put through a chronograph. The only down side is cheap strings, so if the Response doesn’t come with at least ABB strings plan on going with better strings and then it’s a keeper.
