I’m considering the PSE Stinger Max to get into compound (coming from recurve). It looks reasonably priced and entry level. It has one cam and one wheel, which I kind of like (more simple). Is it a good bow? Is it good enough to grow with for some time?

The Stinger Max is an excellent bow for new shooters or experienced. It’s plenty fast. It has enough adjustment for growing archers or to fit anyone from 21.5”-30” draw. It comes with a grow setting and performance. The 55lbs version goes as low as 23lbs, and the 70lbs goes as low as 30lbs.
There are features it lacks from flagship bows.
Riser is cast. Limb pockets are a polymer (been used for years. Some higher end bows have went to some form of polymer).
All in all, it’s a tough bow to beat.

You may want to give the Bear Single Cams a look.
