valley on q2xl

depending on the cam you can serve your buss cable as small as you can and that will fill less of you cable track up..i use 16 strands of brownell ultra-cam with .018 diamondback serving also from brownell..i think you could get smaller than that by using #2 fast flight serving also made by brownell.just get it wrapped very tight..check with your mathews retailer or pm me for any more info..good shooting..jeremy jarrett (mathews factory pro shooter)!!

any other ideas.

im thinking if you could file the area where the cable first turns where it comes off the post it would allow the cam to rotate a little more thus creating a valley. does sound like it would work.

could you possibly put a different cam on it. different model, size with a different string length???

Try twisting and untwisting your cable. This will change the position of your cam and you should be able to lengthen/shorten your valley to your desired feel. The downside is that it will change your draw length too. You should have plenty of valley on a Q2XL. Did you check your cam timing? The only Mathews bow that seems to have a short valley is the Legacy.

You have to make sure you have proper cam rotation. you will see 2 small holes in the cam, these should run parrlel to the string. The Q2XL dosn't have a radical dropoff like some other single cams, it also is not a 80% letoff bow. I would not file the cam or alter the bow in any form to try & change the way the bow was designed to be shot. If you shoot a Q2XL & a Conquest you will notice the Conquest will have a much more rapid breakover into the valley than the Q2XL. I really like the way the Q2XL draws & shoots, in my opinion it is about perfect but some do not like this & want to really feel that letoff (or perception) when it rolls over. If I am guessing right this is what you may be talking about.
